Some of these figures seem a bit rubbery. Are you really suggesting Sunday had almost as many regional viewers as 5 city?

Including NZ is nice but there is no way we can realistically include ratings from every country. This is Australia.

Add up the numbers xman, the total is about 4.87m so i just rounded the figure down to be accurate.

Also did not add the NZ sky figures for pat tv for Sundays 2 games, so its safe to say that we have hit 4.8m with 1 game on Monday to add.

FYI we get payed millions from NZ and also have a team over there so this makes it our catchment area and more then enough reason to add these figures.

All 8 NRL matches were shown in isolation werent they, or at least 6 of them? Only 2 of the AFL's were

None of the previous years have included NZ, which isnt part of Australia by the way.

You've also failed to provide a link for your regional figures which look dubious.

Plus Ive already stated there is an ongoing issue with previous years ratings.

3 games in isolation, that leaves 6 shown concurrently. That effectively means the AFL only had 6 games because the ratings don't take split audiences into consideration.

The fact the AFL win with less games, a shorter season, and longer broadcasts show they are clearly the best TV sport in Australia by a long long way.

You as an NRL fan can watch 6-8 exclusive games on each weekend, which is 12-16 hrs of NRL. You are then counted 6-8 times each round in cummulative counting, which is a total of 168 exclusive games per home and away season.

I as an AFL fan can only watch 3hrs on FN, 3hrs on SA, 3hrs on SN, 3hrs on SunA and maybe 1.5 more games on Sun late afternoon because of overlap. It's impossible for me to watch any more because I cannot watch 2 games at the same time and even if I did it couldnt count in the ratings. So for the maximum 14hrs I watch on the weekend I am only counted 4.5 times. Multiply this by 22 rounds and I can only be counted as watching a maximum 99 times.

So, even though we both watch about 14hrs of our chosen sport per weekend you are counted 168 times for the year and I am only counted 99 times.
