what we do know is
the NRL will announce the... actual... attendance ..which will be somewhere north of 80,000 & under the 82,500 capacity

thats the number that ,, actually turned up
unlike the dodgiest basterds in world sport , who announce the MCGs absolute capacity or
just under it

Re: AFL & NRL Footy Crowds - 2024
Actually it wont, because the NRL counts ground staff and players in its totals. Always has.azif wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2024 5:17 pmWookieReturns wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2024 4:32 pmI can literally get tickets for that today mate. Thats not anything to write home about.azif wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2024 3:07 pm

Re: AFL & NRL Footy Crowds - 2024
And we're talking about governing bodies anyway .... not clubs
the NRL's Grand final crowds in
2006
79,647
2017
79,772
now
in a night game , hell even in a day game .. crowds that close to capacity could be announced as over 80,000 or even sellouts & no one would ever know they weren't
but
they weren't , so they weren't
the NRL as an organisation is above board & honest in all its dealings with everyone about everything.
When the word integrity was mentioned to a fumbles & bumbles official his reaction was

Re: AFL & NRL Footy Crowds - 2024
47,566 in the house. That's the most at the SCG for cricket in 49 years & higher than any AFL crowd ever here.
That is 47,566 at SCG day 1 with behind bowlers arms knocking out a few sections each side of stadium
ive seen AFL call a sell out for 33k LOL

so they're saying all bar 2 people occupied , every seat , & corporate lounge in the venue.

I mean lets ignore the fact its not possible for a crowd that size to attend a cricket match at the SCG
the capacity for cricket at the SCG is 46,000 when the seats are taken out for the sight screens at either end ,
looks like those dodgy bastards from derpball were the crowd counters yesterday

I noticed they used the term “all tickets exhausted” this year rather than sellout - still not bad numbers for the AFL at the Gabba. Do you know if it’s the same capacity for cricket and Lions - as I know they configure it differently in some stadiums ? I looked and it eeems to be the same but thought I recalled somewhere that corporate areas in the stands can reduce capacity?

Re: AFL & NRL Footy Crowds - 2024
Quick search but it doesn’t seem right re : figures but does show it did vary at one stage anyway
For international cricket matches, the capacity is reduced to 36,000 due to new scoreboards and the addition of a pool deck, as well as wider sight screens. For AFL matches the capacity is slightly larger at 37,478.
Edit - think that is the AI summary you get - so take it with a grain of salt lol

Re: AFL & NRL Footy Crowds - 2024
