More funds for SUNS ??
Suns need cash, not picks: AFL rivals
Rock bottom: Leigh Matthews says Gold Coast Suns at lowest point

I think the have a lot of the off field stuff in order re: facilities, coach, academy etc but maybe more dollars to attract recruiting personal. The problem is they get gun players young and when they get any good they go to other clubs. This is a major disadvantage and one way to balance that may be to make it financially attractive to stay and thus higher salary cap maybe? Thing is you have basketcase teams in AFL who have had years of being crap but they have the culture and support of being in an Aussie Rules town and years of support or both ... the suns do not have this. So they must look to ways to address this imbalance as to not do so puts them at a massive disadvantage.

Jonathan Brown calls for AFL to stand up, seriously assist ‘worse than state league’ Gold Coast Suns
**** the ideas suggested by Brown included handing the Suns the first three picks in the draft, an extra $1 million in salary cap space, or the entire Northern Territory as a zone allocated exclusively to them
So we are gonna give them the first three draft picks. Why don’t you give them all of NT as a zone. Why don’t you extend the rookie contracts to three or four years. Why don’t you give them an extra million dollars in the salary cap to make it a viable option.
https://www.news.com.au/sport/AFL/AFL-2 ... a4dd0cd2b0
Draft picks, all of NT, more money. It doesn't look like the much spoken about explosion in grassroots has much to show after 10 years of the Suns and hundreds of millions of dollars.

Maybe if you dweebs had an idea in the cost of running an AFL club over an nrlol club!
It’s around half the running costs & the suns earning ability through football related revenue is still better than
Most nrlol clubs

Again, you assume.
They have significant business support
I thought it was a fan group?
see right here. This is where we can ignore any further input from you. What the fuck do you know about AFL supporter groups, sponsors, coteries etc.
And what exactly do you know about NRL clubs, Leagues clubs & supporter groups pal?? You assume to possess knowledge you simply don't have.
And in this discussion about GWS naming rights and donations to AFL clubs you tell everybody they don't know shit when the absolute secrecy of the deals means you couldn't possibly know shit either.
In any case you probably don't mean what you say. We know you change your 'opinions' and point of view depending on the forum.
Hope this helps......and have a great day pal!!!!!

I do know that it costs more to fund an AFL team over the NRL team as the way it is structured..
I think the AFL over supply themselves in the footy department facilities
like how much more staff could you possibly want at an AFL Game ?
its boarding with the NFL these days..
obviously more staff = more $$$

The whole idea of naming rights is to get your name seen .
This GWS secret naming benefactors is laughable .
It's beyond laughable .
There's no reason for someone to remain silent ....
It's not like a gift to the club as happens in sports .
This is naming rights for the stadium .....advertising in sport ...to be seen .
get your name or company's name seen by fans & tv viewers .
Lol
If there was a Sportsbet market I'd say it'd look like this
$1.01. GIl & AFL house
$1000.00 anyone else ..individual ..company ..or group..

Let's say there are private benefactors willing to give away millions of $$$ in secrecy, totally without recognition. Why would they not just give the money to the club. Why would they anonymously attach their money to the naming rights of the stadium??
Are they not now depriving the club of more money by taking the naming rights out of play. Wouldn't a benefactor who cares about the club so much just give 'em the money and say 'now get yaself a naming rights sponsor'. Like you know.....get even more money in the bank.
Nup. This story is smoke and mirrors AFL 101.

i am wary of the whole scenario too...
I do also think it was a great ploy by the Gws or AFL
whoever came up with idea, in naming the stadium
GIANTS STADIUM
do i have any evidence ... no..
but i am backing that it is funded by the AFL
in saying i think it was money well spent.. if they have...
did we ever get a sum of $$$ of how much it was ? or how long for ?

The academy system seems to work against the expansion sides.
The other clubs appear to have the view “find them, train them, develop them, and if they not good keep them, if they are good give them to us or pay through the nose for them”
IMHO they should automatically be able to pick 4 acadamey players each year without conditions.
That would also promote the game locally.
BTW I would also argue that players under 20 should not be Drafted interstate, applies to all states.

I know whats been published, and I know how coteries networks operate. You've got nothing but suspicions.
