Your club comp is all you have. I'm not saying that's a bad thing but it only makes up about 80% of our season. If Rugby League never had, the more popular rep football and had our full focus on club football the way you do. Then the way we done things would change, and so would fans attitude. If the best they had to focus on was Parramatta v Melbourne. We might even have to consider introducing a wildcard to get some interest back into the tail end of our season.
your code needs rep games to bolster your dreadful national (lol) competition

Its also all most AFL people want.

More like 90%.

But you dont, and starting in round 6 or 7 every year, fans stop giving a shit about their NRL clubs.

consider is the operative word. The AFL is constantly looking for ways to improve - not all of them will work - and doesnt sit around its arse just talking about it. Its not something the AFL needs - crowds and ratings are just fine, but the perception that theres some dead fixtures in the back end tends to make the back half of the season less exciting than it could be if they introduced such a wild card.
In the mean time, NRL crowds are in the toilet - especially in Sydney where long established teams are pulling less than the Storm do - and the NRL has no clue what its going to do about it. NRL ratings are down on FTA and Fox.
Sorry Wookie but you are wrong. Below is what Silly Gilly said about fumbleball SOO on June 2:
“I would love to, as a guy who grew up in South Australia watching Tony Hall kick checksides on the run from 50m (in State of Origin contests),’’ he said.
“I would love to play State of Origin, the majority of supporters would and there was a poll where 60,000 people responded and 92 per cent wanted it."
Gilly said 92% of fumbleball fans want SOO. Yep, 92%!!!!! As you well know Wookie when Silly Gilly says something it is to be treated as a divine oration and cannot be questioned.
You really must get your facts right before going on a anti RL rant lest you look a tad silly.
By the way: Do you think there are any positives in RL's SOO series?? Anything at all?? Or is it just all downside in your totally objective opinion.

"Melburnians love presentations"
Um... Did you even read my detailed post?
2012 AFL GF Presentations (Sydney Swans win) rated HIGHER than last year!
What you should have said was, NRL viewers don't care about presentations...

All you people do is talk up your club competition. It's the Bees knees according to you fumblers . But you never miss an opportunity to try and better it or promote your game - but no ones interested. That's the real reason you only have a club competition.
With a full round this week our matches will rate a swell as ever. Certainly not an indication that nobody gives a shit. And With the 7's, Tests, Origin, all stars, World cup/4 nation. The club scene would have to be 80% or pretty darn close.
There was a report a few months back, stating that more NRL apps had been sold in the first two weeks of 2017 than in the entire 2016 season. Hardly an indication of any lack of interest. And probably helps to explain our dip in ratings.

and all you tossball fans do is talk up because its the only thing that really competes with the AFLs competition.
AFL fans and players may like the idea of SOO, but when push comes to shove and your best players risk injury in a fairly meaningless match, most reconsider. There's a reason SOO fizzled out in Aussie rules, and it wont come back. It just doesnt have the support the club games do.

Rugby league fans do support and love there club footy even when STATE OF ORIGIN IS around..
SOO is just a level above it.. and it gets people excited..
It is like when you go to school in Athletics
You win at school level
you go to regionals
than zone
than STATE
than Australia...

The thing is, I am hoping slater doesn't get picked for origin 2. I would rather he be playing for the storm. I have no alliance to nsw or qld really and would rather storm win than say qld.

The fact he may put soo over his club is annoying for me. Soo means nothing to me really but storm winning the gf does

He has just as much chance of getting injured in that weeks club round.

Possibly, but at least that is whilst playing for his club. Why take unnecessay risks. Then there's things like fatigue on the players etc that could carry over for weeks.
At present it seems soo is valued more than come by footy but which pays there wages.
