I would be interested to see if it is a scheduling thing. The AFL made an effort to make games more attractive for people to attend so they scheduled more games in the afternoon and less games in twilight. Therefore there would be more games overlapping than last year.

The thing about foxtel though, is it depends on subscriptions. If subsription rates drop, as they would have with the introduction of netflix, so will ratings. FTA though should stay the same because everyone has it. Most AFL fans dont need foxtel to see their team.

So many AFL fans went out and got Foxtel
because of the 9 games live ad free..

I would love to see the % rate in Melbourne now in regards to foxtel.

Look at Foxtel tv ratings now, for the AFL

and then look at them before the Foxtel Tv deal was done.

BIG DIFFERENCE

of course they increased, but Id be surprised if they are anywhere near the numbers of NSW and QLD given the AFL has an excellent FTA agreement

Melbourne: 4 matches a week on FTA - Meaning cant see 5
Adelaide: 4 matches a week on FTA - Meaning cant see 5
Perth : 4 matches a week on FTA - Meaning Cant see 5
Qld : 3 matches a week on FTA - Meaning cant see 5
Syd. : 3 matches a week on FTA - Meaning cant see 5

That but but excuse didnt work out real well.

Or are you saying there numbers are lower because there's less interest shown. People can enjoy enough boredom on C7 without going out and subscribing for more,

nice try. Every team outside of Victoria is shown to their state on FTA every weekend. EG the suns are shown in Brisbane every weekend. The eagles are shown in Perth every weekend. The power are shown in Adelaide every weekend. The Swans are shown in Sydney every weekend

Tell me, why do AFL fans 'need' Foxtel??

Fri TV #NRL #NRLManlyTigers Nine 505k (Syd 366k Bri 139k) GEM 35k (Mel 25k Per 10k) = 540k

Fri TV #AFL #AFLTigersEagles Seven 460k (Mel 358k Ade 101k) 7mate 213k (Syd 25k Bri 24k Per 164k) = 673k

Another FN whopping, even accounting for the BS SOO 10% factor

What's your excuse for being beaten in the ratings every FN and Sunday for the last month or more RL fans? :?>

the metro comparison is totally reasonable given both codes have similar metro heartland audiences.

Last week the NRL's FN rated 545k, almost exactly the same as this week's metro. Your regional ratings were only 331k, making a total of 876k. You think this week's total ratings will be any different? They'll be 250k or more lower than the AFL's total

How do your last and 3rd lasts teams go when they play of a Friday night? Oh thats right there banned from that slot. When our best players play, like they did 2 nights ago they got 4m viewers( including more Melbourne meto viewers than you've got all year) ! has your mob done anything like that in recent years??????????????????
