Re: War on the Gold Coast - Suns vs Titans
I still think "jack" that seeing the titans just getting past the suns as a victory speaks much more to the success of the suns. For what it is worth, I don't think crowd numbers are a good indicator of community support/interest as we know nrl dominates Sydney but look at the crowds.

Yes, but stewie clearly said that the titans could never beat the suns unless it was a final, and even though the titans only win by a couple of hundred, a win is a win and he was saying bullshit. Get at where I'm going at phelpsy?

Re: War on the Gold Coast - Suns vs Titans
Well that's between you and Stewie. I think the title of the thread is wrong as there is no war. Both codes and union and soccer and surfing are all popular. Went for a surf this morning having played baseball yesterday and then to park to kick the sherrin. At the park there was a group playing a modified soccer match, another dad kicking a soccer ball with his son, and a dad and mum playing rugby (not sure leauge or union) with their kids. All harmonious as it should be.

local VFL clubs .... no doubt as part of a wider strategy from the VFL in Melb ... paying schools to pull up RL posts & put in fumbles n bumbles ones
& instructing schools they are bribing ..... to remove RL from its sports curriculum
is just for shits & gigs dickhead ?

Re: War on the Gold Coast - Suns vs Titans
You want to point out where I have said the Suns will beat the titirons for crowd numbers? Yah Can't can you Coward! Now give me an apology or are you going to keep running! C'mon didn't admit when wrong with Harry Kewell, said Swans have made losses for the last 30yrs, was too scared to bet on whether the AFL average will be better than last year or the NRL will be worse than last year - now you accuse me of something I have not said - so apologise!Raiderdave wrote:Swans4ever wrote:Titans just scrap over the line and your empressed? Big full back page plea to titans fans to come to the game this weekend. Problem is people are complaining that it clashes with the bledislo cup on at the same time and many complaining in the reader feedback. Hope they get a good crowd .

How silly is the timing. The warriors should never play at the same time as the all blacks.

Re: War on the Gold Coast - Suns vs Titans
Me, no real preference. I like the running play of ru but the rules confuse me somewhat ... Apparently I'm not alone on that front. Rl is a bit easier to follow but I find it tad formulaic although is good when there is a score and some quick plays. My point was a lot of kiwis here will watch the union and not go to titans but hopefully a good crowd turns up.

Re: War on the Gold Coast - Suns vs Titans
Maybe you should go to the titans game then? Just a suggestion, but it would help your statement of the GC being a multi sport city, and you might enjoy it! But like most AFL fans you probably won't go due to stubbornnessPhelpsy wrote:Me, no real preference. I like the running play of ru but the rules confuse me somewhat ... I've been to 2. Both when I was in Melbourne. Great atmosphere, but I prefer rugby league again and that's because I live In canberra and the raiders crowds are close. With the AFL in Melbourne the crowds were very spread outcos789 wrote:So how many games of Australian Football do you go to ?Jackyboy wrote:it would help your statement of the GC being a multi sport city, and you might enjoy it! Do you actually go to arse Raiders games? They constantly struggle for crowds. It's because union is king there.Jackyboy wrote:I've been to 2. Both when I was in Melbourne. You like being close to the game so going to a bigger game with more atmosphere and being further away doesn't appeal?
Nice try Cos.
