metro viewers would have been down by 500K im my opinion if the NRL GF was on Saturday afternoon. Its a fact there are a lot more people watching TV during prime time.

The fact is Melbourne is King when it comes to sport. But you are overlooking the fact that 1.4 million watched the AFL on a saturday afternoon.500,000 more than the NRL on prime time. In Sydney only 250000 more watched the league than the AFL. Well watch league but when it comes to hitting the pocket couldnt even get 30 thousand to a prelim. If you guys have your hearts set on melbourne they are sure to be broken. The big difference down here is where do the converted go to play.No support only 3 growth staff for the whole state.AFL has 11 in canberra and we dont even have a team.2nd rate game,3rd rate admin.

classic stuff again Dave. The Australian tennis open almost doubled ratings by going from afternoon to evening.

The NRL almost double their ratings when comparing Sunday afternoon to Friday night.

But no, it wont make a difference.....

Dave, well done for showing the AFL ratings excluding TAS and WA regional ratings! =D> =D>
OzTAM and RegionalTAM, based on 5 cap cities and 4 aggreated regional markets
http://www.thinktv.com.au/SiteMedia/w3s ... 202012.pdf

Add another 150k for Tas and 100-150k for WA regionals and there you have the AFL Victory =D> =D> =D>

Funny thing is Dave, the ThinkTV ratings claim the AFL presentation rated 4.161M WITHOUT TASMANIA OR WA REG.

Therefore the AFL GF presentation rated 4.4M with these markets included, well above the NRL even with NZ!!

Thanks Dave, cheers!!!!!!

So in Aus

AFL 1st
NRL 2nd

In NZ
NRL 1st
AFL 2nd

In Aus + NZ

NRL 4.1 million
AFL dont have the final numbers but will be 4.05+ NZ figures.

I think both sports would be happy with those figures.
Pies i totally agree with you mate, i only take to insults because we have some brain dead twitts on this forum who like to lie through there teeth, IE xman, QLDAFL.

Claiming the AFL is on top without counting one of our NRL markets. It would be like me trying to leave out your Perth ratings for the AFL, its annoying to see these guys so butthurt they cant even give props were they are due, quite sad really.

We had QLDafl claiming that the NRL ratings are all down............wtf please see this the BS us Leagues have to put up with.

Clearly the AFL/NRL both had great ratings and bother deserve to be applauded.

I for one can admit that i enjoyed the AFL GF more then then the NRL one because of the sea souring battle, but that is a rarity in the AFL regular season this year. If the AFL could hardness that type of contest for 80% of its games then they would expand with no trouble, problem is is that is not the case.

And on NZ figures, you can count there number all you want but they plain fact is that NZ is not a AFL market with no team and no TV contract. So counting NZ ratings towards your ratings would just be a sign of desperation.
So should we exclude the NRLs figures from Perth and Adelaide since they dont have a team? :-k
Xman i know your butthurt but mate you are kidding aren't you?

The NRL has a TV deal Australia Wide and our game is shown in Perth.

Really NRL in Primetime........5pm start is not prime time last time a checked.... :-k

Anyhow what does it matter what time the GF is on.......People know when these 2 codes are played and would not miss it even if it were not in Primetime. People have ample time to plan and make sure they see there Fav codes........Please stop with the butthurt, i have never seen so much butthurt in my life.

You AFL fans must of thought you had it all wrapped up with 4m......  You were wrong and now you are playing the Sore losers.
