What do you expect when you have one person (Dave) refusing to argue at a higher level?

At least the clubs are charging extra for the membership unlike the AFL where if you sign up to foxtel you get an AFL membership for free.

On a serious note

Do you think buying a ticket to one game such as the Broncos derby or Wests Tigers vs Cronulla should see one counted as a member of the club?
If you don't, would agree that NRL membership numbers are fudged / dodgey?

no different to a non ticketed membership which at least WE report on for transparency
the VFL
does not
gee I wonder why

Since when has membership numbers only applied to ticketed members? I live a few hundred miles from Sydney's east. This year I only took out Nonticketed membership. I have a brother in law who has membership with both Newcastle and the Swans, The Swans membership is non ticketed, and both would be counted.

Non ticketed memberships are counted by clubs, but when the AFL releases their annual report they only include clubs ticketed memberships. In 2011 there was something like 699k total club members but 650k where ticketed. The nRL would most likely include non ticketed memberships in their annual report or wherever they release the total club memberships statistics.

Given that the nRL post the same number as the clubs post, it seems VERY likely.
