do you think for a second anyone would be watching your silly little victorian game anywhere outside of Australia

this is only NZ we're adding
the ratings for the NRL in the UK would be similar

& F me swinging .... if you added PNG & its potential 6 Million League crazy veiwers ..... it aint a contest sonny
Find em or shut up....

you've been cooked

Rugby League ... the SW Pacific's numb one sport

has a nice ring to it .. doesn't it
Your totally correct, NRL/RL would be the Pacific s number 1 Sport followed closely by rugby union, AFL aint even close.

So in Aus

AFL 1st
NRL 2nd

In NZ
NRL 1st
AFL 2nd

In Aus + NZ

NRL 4.1 million
AFL dont have the final numbers but will be 4.05+ NZ figures.

I think both sports would be happy with those figures.

Pies i totally agree with you mate, i only take to insults because we have some brain dead twitts on this forum who like to lie through there teeth, IE xman, QLDAFL.

Claiming the AFL is on top without counting one of our NRL markets. It would be like me trying to leave out your Perth ratings for the AFL, its annoying to see these guys so butthurt they cant even give props were they are due, quite sad really.

We had QLDafl claiming that the NRL ratings are all down............wtf please see this the BS us Leagues have to put up with.

Clearly the AFL/NRL both had great ratings and bother deserve to be applauded.

I for one can admit that i enjoyed the AFL GF more then then the NRL one because of the sea souring battle, but that is a rarity in the AFL regular season this year. If the AFL could hardness that type of contest for 80% of its games then they would expand with no trouble, problem is is that is not the case.

And on NZ figures, you can count there number all you want but they plain fact is that NZ is not a AFL market with no team and no TV contract. So counting NZ ratings towards your ratings would just be a sign of desperation.

So should we exclude the NRLs figures from Perth and Adelaide since they dont have a team? :-k

I looked into it and I had different sources say different things one said Sky sports 3 which had a lowest rating of 77K. I think you are right though it was on Sky sports 2 and didnt rate much.

I think you are right with your reasoning Xman. It is not like the NRL have teams in Adelaide or Perth or get any money from showing RL into Adelaide and Perth, in fact they probabaly loose money for 9 by broadcasting to those cities. This wold be similar to the TV contract (yes there is one for NZ for the AFL) that AFL have with Sky sports and the two probabaly have similar ratings as well (AFL in NZ and NRL in WA/SA). But I think that would be pretty fickle to do that and doesnt even really matter. Both sports rated very well, despite the AFL being shown at a bad time and the NRL GF not being the great contest that it usually is.

AFL victory in Australia
NRL victory in NZ
NRL victory world wide

Gratz to both sports.

indeed. Well done to the AFL who had the highest rating sporting event in Australia in 2012, even though it was shown outside prime-time! =D>

Well done to the NRL for having the highest rating sporting event in Australasia in 2012.

Its quiet simple Tv networks in NZ , Wa and Sa pay the NRL for tv coverage there all NRL markets. Tv networks in NZ dont pay anything to AFL, there not a market! If you want to start talking about non-markets that show our game than you bring in Europe and America etc. It is a non-contest

You know this for sure? :-k

Either way, Australians love AFL more. Ratings and attendance prove that every year.
