Talking Footy

FAST-paced and entertaining footy has helped the AFL set a new attendance record after three rounds.

The previous record of 1,008,660 from 2013 was surpassed on Sunday, when turnstiles clicked over for the 1,011,777th time this season – registering the highest mark in the sport's history.

Nearly 300,000 supporters (298,737) turned up in round three to break the previous record.

Overall attendances have also climbed by 6 per cent from last year, with an extra 61,384 fans supporting their teams on match days.

Stupid night to play footy - kids at school and have to go to bed early, mums and dads have to go to work next day so having a quiet one is not on the agenda and your already a bit over footy - Thursday is much better!

, crowds, Rv ratings. Not even 2nd place!!!
