Streaming companies want to broadcast AFL
Re: Streaming companies want to broadcast AFL
Guilty and the boys are in a world of pain over this deal. They told lies and got caught out. Now 7 & Fox have got ‘em bent over and are about to take turns havin’ a little fun lolololol!
If they want good money they’re gonna have to give up something. This is hilarious to watch. Let’s see Gilty spin himself outta this one lolololol!!!!

Of course. Nothing to offer.truthbomber wrote: Sun Aug 14, 2022 8:44 amTLPG wrote: Sat Aug 13, 2022 8:41 pmIt is owned by Foxtel. It doesn't mean that it is Foxtel. Learn the difference. A new deal can easily tell Fox Sports "Yes you have the football, but online streaming goes to Paramount". Especially if Ten win the FTA rights.![]()

Let's just make one thing clear. The AFL must provide FTA access to all it's games. They have no choice. We have anti-siphoning that prohibit that sort of thing. So there will be no exclusive arrangements for Foxtel or any streaming service.

The devil is in the detail otherwise every AFL game would be on FTA in each state.TLPG wrote: Sun Aug 14, 2022 8:01 pmLet's just make one thing clear. There are some technicalities being exploited, but as long as at least one state has it on the main channel they get away with it. Maybe that should change - not just for the AFL but for the NRL too to be fair.

Re: Streaming companies want to broadcast AFL
Basically as long as a FTA broadcaster wants an AFL or NRL game on FTA, and they bid for it, they are legally allowed to do so. Seven exercises this right in non victorian states. Its why any exclusive deal will need to be negotiated with Seven or other FTA broadcasters.Quolls2019 wrote: Sun Aug 14, 2022 8:22 pmThe devil is in the detail otherwise every AFL game would be on FTA in each state.TLPG wrote: Sun Aug 14, 2022 8:01 pmLet's just make one thing clear. (The new or current broadcasters) can do what I suggested without breaking the anti siphoning laws.
If 10 Paramount+ are successful, they will be better placed to implement it being one company, however they may have technical difficulties with the streaming side.
The increase in the number of Thursday night games next season could make it easier to implement it.

Re: Streaming companies want to broadcast AFL
Todays Australian today reports the new fumbleball broadcast deal will be "......lots of smoke and mirrors....."! In other words they're going to stick to brand and tell lies about the size of the deal. Who woulda thunk it lololololol!!!!
Apparently they're not gonna get anywhere the $600M mark that Gilty lied about earlier in discussions. But to make it look better than it actually is they're gonna add in a lot of 'contra'. I.E. they're gonna add on free advertising the winning bid will guarantee. And they're not gonna give a breakdown of the actual cash V contra!!!
Yep. The 'ol smoke and mirrors trick to make the deal look better than it is. So there ya have it!!! Whatever they announce will be total BS. Same 'ol, same 'ol!!! When it comes to lies ya can count on gilty and the boys to be world beaters lololololol!!!!!

Not saying the report is right or wrong….but the NRL don't publicise the contra part of their broadcast rights, do they?Terry wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 11:16 amTodays Australian today reports the new fumbleball broadcast deal will be "......lots of smoke and mirrors....."! Either way - money is money and there is no "smoke and mirrors" about that. Very poor journalism in my opinion.

I suspect not. But the point of the article is that Gilty will cover up his failure to get the $$$$ he wants with added 'contra'. Its very typical AFL. Lies. Obfuscatioin. BS!! Tick. Tick. Tick.

Stock exchange rates your opinion at $0.01. Especially on the back of that BS you spouted to Quolls.
