RL wed night . 3x the AFL fri night rating

You fumblers are so narrow minded you just don't get it no matter how many times its explained .
Once again for the mentally challenged .
You have all your eggs in one basket .
We don't
We have ours shared over different levels/ tiers .
Some parts of that affect other parts due to players available etc .
Hence highs & lows in the domestic part of our comp .

& before you go on a SOO rant .
This is a RL RATINGS thread .

& you used to get it .not any more .
somewhere along the line you have joined the not so bright .

Our NRL games during SOO period are affected by SOO
It affects crowds & viers .
It's the downside of our rep scene .
So yes it's a valid excuse for viewing numbers being down .

It's what it is
& if a fumbler is going to point out one of the negative aspects of this .
Then I will counter with the positive .

So while the SOO period is on .
I will point it out .
You don't like it . Bad luck .
I don't see you having a shot at your fumbler mates for continually highlighting the downside .
You just take shots at us for pointing out the upside .

lol your AFL bias Is shining through

Not sure why comparing soo to a home and away match to soo has any Significance but hey if that's all I had then I get it. How long do you hang onto that though... 1 week.., 2 weeks ?

It's like AFL comparing gf ratings to a home and away match. Why... because it is a marquee event and people with little interest watch the game. Therefore it does in no way reflect interest in the code but the event.

And for what it's worth I do think soo has a lot of positives. In fact it is THE event for rl in this country. It gets people watching who normally wouldn't, it gets rl in the media outside nsw and qld, and it adds significantly to the income streams of rl. Without it rl would be in massive trouble. But alas it is part of the rl calendar and congratulations to rl for having it so successful. I do think it undermines the integrity of the nrl comp ... today storm supporters likely thinking if only our origin players were in? It also cheapens the victory I feel... like an Asterix over the win. Next time they play they will be cognisant that they just beat the storm without their stars. So plenty of downside too. Do they balance out? I don't know. Maybe it's a personal thing.

thats all well and good, but it depends on why you are comparing ratings. For me it's to show which code is popular on TV. The only real way to do that is to compare like for like, so to compare state v state to club v club is a waste of time. All it does is prove SOO format is more popular on TV than club games format. Well colour me surprised, never thought that would happen!

I also laugh at the boasting about RL having 4 games over 3 million. Well if you play you most popular format 3 times that's what will happen! All it does is show the SOO format is consistently popular on TV. Great

I dont care about Origin. Ive acknowledged its supremacy as a tv event time and time again. What i object to is it being used as an excuse for all the short comings in rugby league.
I don't use it as an excuse for anything. I know it has an effect on the NRL season. The point is it's positive impact far outweighs any negatives.

Strangely the last two origin effected weekends have produced some cracking games and with a couple of notable exceptions the crowds have been pretty good.

I see yesterdays games rate 177k (average) and 260 & 269 (very good).

It's not all the time .
But for about 8 weeks it affects our games .
& straight away the AFL posters sink the boot in about ...terrible crowds
Terrible ratings etc .

Us RL fans just point at the up side of SOO .to counter the posts of the fumblers ....yet apparently that's bad .
AFL fan points out downside of RL rep scene....all good ..no probs .

As for Fred's bullshit .
How fucking hard is it to understand .
All your eggs are in one basket .
Ours aren't.

I get that. But why compromise the nrl season. Storm get beaten because 3 of their best players are out.... and out for no good reason really. Soo really means nothing to me and I assume a lot of Victorians. It's would be like players from your team leaving to play for a County v County game. You'd be pissed off if they missed a few games to play that and your team lost a few games.

That's a fair point. If I was a passionate Storm supporter I'd be pretty annoyed my stars were risking injury to play in a game that was irrelevant to my state.
