Rightio so at this point I'm:

1. A supporter of all forms of violence, including king hits and the stuff that happened in QLD recently after the RL GF.
2. Someone who wont protect children
3. A bad father
and
4. Someone who would "probably" try and eat your children.

Some of your best LG, some of your best
And at present all true."That's right, unecessary violence shouldnt be condoned" is a flagrant lie on your part. Admit that you are in the wrong and accept that violence has no part on the sporting field and only belongs in the boxing ring or in the UFC ring. Nowhere else

Yes it IS! Violence is an important part of being human, whether you like eating children or not!

Violence is not an important part of being human. To say that it is condones what happened in Brisbane as previously noted and again makes you part of the problem and not the solution.

Yes pookus I agree...except if some bastard bites your testicles. Then I believe we should accept if someone would like to whack them on the head. How difficult is this to understand?

Eating children should be off limits also.

Maybe you should tell my anzac great grand father that tlpg.I agree with KE here.Violence is integral part of being human but it can be controlled and modified.

Yes controlled and modified, like the NRL do so well.

LG I recall you threatening that I should be bashed on several occasions on this website. You said "it would be the only way to knock some sense into me" You, by your own standards set below, therefore condone violence for little more than to shut someone up who speaks their mind and has a different opinion than yourself.

You violent bastard! You disgust me. [-X

Kickin ass. :salute: :\:

Kindly don't invoke war, Pookus. It's right out of context. War is stupid and we all know it.

KE, the NRL do not modify it at all. That's the problem and what happened in Brisbane and in Ipswich is proof.

The statement I made was a last resort statement when all else has failed. You aren't just a person who speaks their mind and has a different opinion. You are like a deluded little boy in need of a spanking in order to modify your behaviour. You disgust every reasonable human being.

Buddy I was just highlighting that sometimes violence is very much needed. Actually a massive part of our ability to evolve. Really if men weren't violent none of our footy codes would exist. But I agree that football should be an example to all. And what better example to set than men hitting eachother hard within the rules then walking off with their arms around eachother. You can be hard without being a thug. And you can be a great role model and have a violent streak. We're not all hippies mate but we all have to live with eachother so self control is essential. That's what our rather violent footballers can teach our kids.

i tend to agree with TLPG no offense. War is usually politically motivated and drags a lot of innocent people in to respond. Its special circumstances where people are defending their freedom and lives at all costs.

Out of war times violence is mainly morons with big egos who are fighting over petty issues that in the scheme of things mean little to nothing.

I had a young patient once who was involved in a knife fight. He had lacerations in his scalp and marks down his neck. It was clear his attacker had stabbed him multiple times directly in the head and the marks were from the knife bouncing off his skull and scraping down his neck! I asked him what the fight was about and he said "nothing much, just a fight". He was smiling smugly like he was proud of surviving the knife fight, as if it showed how tough he was!

What a loser! :/; keep him away from my family!

I think the definition of violence is a little askew here. You love AFL in it's nature it is extremely violent. What your talking about are acts of violence, outside of the rules and I agree that this should be dealt with firmly. The young man that you encountered who knows what his tale is I choose not to judge And please don't downplay the courage of so many that allow you to live in this great country. Without these so called men of violence you'd be plying soccer and your name would be klaus..

Yeah violence is NEVER necessary. NEVER EVER! If I'm off with the pixies LG you're on another dimension...with the pixies there.

Yes unnecessary violence is bad but we must be given our GOD GIVEN right to retaliate to unsportsmanlike behaviour. Yay NRL :thumbleft:

I think we're all coming to agreement in this thread, finally!

No we aren't, KE! Reality check - the correct way to retaliate against unsportsmanlike behaviour is to report it to the authorities and let them deal with it! BOO NRL!

I want to point out the the bumps that are a part of the AFL are not violent. Violence is senseless. Bumps are not senseless - unless they are done recklessly and that's in violation of the rules and reportable.

Definition of violence.
Violence is defined by the World Health Organization as the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against a person, or against a group or community, that either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment or deprivation.
The act of a bump is actual intentional force to deprive the opposition of the ball or space. The bump fits in to this definition. It is definately a violent act You know the rules if a bump is clean I can smash a mans spleen in two and that is in the rules. You cant say a heavy hit isnt a violent act.
