The full extent of the virus is unknown!
Look how fast the virus has spread across the world in such little time
Don’t live in Melbourne for starters! Genius!
Haha you don't even know your in Melbourne.
You follow Essendon and defend Melbourne when I bag the city.
I am certain your hiding the fact your in Melbourne.
I hardly defend Melbourne and did live there for a period of time! it was once a good city now to over populated!
and you do also follow a team not in a state or country where you live!
so give up attempting to sound intelligent
cluedo
Mate you complained about the Melbourne traffic in my sunny days at Brookie post.
Why would someone complain about Melbourne traffic if they did'nt live there?
I say you live in Melbourne

As I said I lived there for a period of time and its to over crowded!
I’ve alway payed the crap out of Sydney for being far more over crowded, lay out like a tin of spaghetti and it being like a bland concrete jungle!
I’ve also spoken about cities in Queensland, Gold Coast, Brisbane etc perth
So maybe tighten that tin foil hat & try again cluedo

I see the nrl is already flagging hitting up the government for money to compensate for any loss from the corona virus. Surely they cannot be serious. And I would say the same for the AFL is they try to put their hand out. Any tax payer money re compensation should go to either small businesses, or, if to large businesses, where not doing so would see them go out of business and impact a large sector of society re: jobs and subsequent flow on affect. This either shows that 1 the NRL are thoughtless and greedy or 2. They really are struggling financially. I would hope large businesses with large revenues are able to absorb such losses rather than think of their bottom line. Sure... if this is going to send them broke ... out of business... I understand ... is it at the level ? But if it is just ... hey we’re going to report a loss ... take a hit... well that’s just what happens... many a small business in this same scenario.
Yeah saw the headlines about the NRL wanting compensation and thought to myself do these leeches ever stop putting their hand out for taxpayer dollars.
Lol there's is nothing like the finger pointing hypocrisy of a fumblefan .
Hilarious stuff .

And like the usual league fan failing to understand!
The AFL isn’t asking for tax payer hand outs for compensation
Like usual the nrl proves it self to be the most pathetic and welfare game in the country!

NO STATE LEAGUES All second-tier comps shut down for months
A decision on whether round one begins this Thursday night is expected in the next 24 hours.
"This unprecedented situation requires an unprecedented response. Football will find a way through," McLachlan told reporters.
"What we do know is we will get a season away. We don't have all the answers at the moment."
The AFL Players Association will hold two separate briefings with AFL and AFLW players starting from 7pm AEDT on Monday night to gauge the players' stance of playing this weekend.
McLachlan also said:
- The match-ups in the first four rounds would remain as fixtured, and the rest of the fixture would be adjusted to accommodate the shortened season
- The AFLPA had been receptive to talk of a mass player pay cut
- If a player tested positive to coronavirus, the League would have no choice but to suspend play across the competition
McLachlan also confirmed that he would take a pay cut as part of the industry's wider belt-tightening to cope with the financial effects of the coronavirus crisis.
Seems they are not asking for handouts ...

The AFL has sucked far more out of the taxpayer than RL
It's been shown over & over on here .
Yet you're still in denial.

I think where the AFL do it well is that they go to councils and state governments .. and value add. A lot of the time the AFL also contribute money to projects and sell the community benefit. Whereas, it seems the nrl simply ask for things without putting any money in. That’s the perception I get anyway.

Care to address the points made or answer the question posed? Why comment when you have nothing to add or where you avoid the question. You do this all the time ?

Carolyn Wilson summed up the NRLs response nicely
“I know the NRL clubs don’t have the membership support enjoyed by the AFL, but that was no excuse.
“At a time when people are falling ill, potentially dying, businesses going under and people losing their jobs, to open the conversation by demanding public money demonstrated a lack of grace...”
I am still amazed the NRL came out and almost demanded handouts. This would have to be the height of stupidity.
