Freddy, the ratings for RL in Melbourne & conversely for AFL in Sydney are both very low. So we're really splitting hairs with this one pal. And if you take into account the money, time & effort the AFL have spent on the Sydney market you would actually expect their numbers would be much bigger. Simple stuff Frederico!!!!!Fred wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 1:27 pmTerry wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 11:22 amFreddy 'ol son...........the Melbourne expat population in Sydney town would number many many more than 42k. Get my point pal??????Fred wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 11:15 am42000 in Sydney for Friday night footy. For a non Sydney team. Pretty impressive and that’s only fta.
Ohhh .... I see. Lol. There’s seems to always be an excuse lol. I guess all those Sydney expats in Melbourne have converted to AFL? Not one of your better posts Terry lol but hey you’re usually pretty good so we can let that pass to the keeper. I’ll add it to my excuse bingo list though if you don’t mind.
Oh ... and cue sydney v Melbourne debate and no one moving to Melbourne from Sydney lol.
Take it away boys ...... or Pals![]()

Re: 2020 - Australian Football TV Ratings - AFL, AFLW etc
Seemed to be a bit of a difference this week ....... anyone got the cumulative ratings for each in corresponding cities for the year? Actually the average without home teams in each would be interesting. Melbourne figures for nrl teams without storm and Sydney figures for AFL teams without Sydney or gws.

Quick Comment.
FTA Deal for AFL is alot more valuable than FTA NRL deal as
Ch7 get more games to air and also home teams are beamed into Home states on FTA
Where as NRL FOX is more valuable as they get 5 Exclusive games per week.
(all those articles praising the AFL never mention the plus side to the FTA and AFL component

They also have to show love in qls amd nsw swans, Gws, suns and lions which is a liability remember also. Although the AFL take less to ensure this. Also nrl deal also includes three biggest games of Rl in soo. ... so need to add that in also to 9 deal. That’s pretty big. Whereas AFL can only offer finals and hone and away. More games, yes... but soo .... massive.

while Seven Network show games into NSW and QLD of home teams, at mostly a loss exercise.Fred wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2020 9:22 pmThey also have to show love in qls amd nsw swans, Gws, suns and lions which is a liability remember also. this is made up for it by Showing SA and WA home games into home states.
Seven deal is 3 to 4 a week Plus SA AND WA games 4 teams all up..
YES NRL has SOO which 3 big games, But Seven Network also broadcast alot more games throughout the year than Ch9

Thinking the SoO is a pretty big thing.... it’s the biggest sporting thing on tv. Can’t just brush it off like that.

That is correct,The_Wookie wrote: Fri Jun 19, 2020 12:03 amIts not quite how it works.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2020 3:07 pm

Generally its 3 games a week, with a few weeks getting 4 games. WA and SA games are generally included in this number. Where 7 shows more matches is that the WA and SA games are frequently not the games shown in the Victorian market if they fall on a saturday or sunday.
I still think the FTA deal with AFL is better than channel 9 deal for NRL
