Re: AFL CLUB DEBTS & PROFITS
i do understand how the only competition in the world can be funded and payments distributed the way they are.
to clubs from the high end to the low end..
and not see something wrong with it..
(if the NRL did this.. you would call for action by the sporting public and media.)

Re: AFL CLUB DEBTS & PROFITS
So if you hire smart people to run your club successfully that's bad luck .
We give you the least amount .
But if you're a basketcase who couldn't run a chook raffle in pub full of drunks then we will throw as much money as we' can at you .
That's really punishing clubs that have their house in order
& rewarding clubs that are fuck ups .
Normal people just can't get their head around Southern AFL logic .

News Limited owned Melbourne Storm from the get go.
it was the deal between Murdoch and the ARL that Storm become the owners of News ltd
because of the super league war..
this was out of ARL / NRL hands. this all changed as of 2012 when the commission was formed.
again this is under private ownership.
where as the AFL are handing down funds in huge differences...
the NRL did not fund expansion clubs in Adelaide and Perth..
and had only folded due to Super League.
the funding came from News Ltd

where as the AFL are totally different.

If the NRL expand into Perth or Adelaide they will fail without financial support from the NRL unless they are owned by a very generous benefactorleeroy*NRL* wrote: Wed Dec 05, 2018 2:42 pmit has only been the one club and i have shown you the reason why...NlolRL wrote: Wed Dec 05, 2018 1:42 pmNews Ltd who had a vested interest in the NRL succeedingleeroy*NRL* wrote: Wed Dec 05, 2018 1:14 pm

Re: AFL CLUB DEBTS & PROFITS

No thanks. Would much rather the AFL model
Grassroots through lower leagues.
Community interest.
body corp
funding model.
sponsors and government on board
Infrastructure.
They are slowly doing this in Perth as we speak..
it creates a level playing field.
instead of the AFL model Funding. (which again is not done anywhere in the world)
Re: AFL CLUB DEBTS & PROFITS
"They all get similar amounts"...……..look at the graph pal. The difference between most and least is 14 Mil!!!!!!! Some clubs get more than double others!!!!! What planet do you live on?????? The differences are huge!!!!NlolRL wrote: Tue Dec 04, 2018 12:18 pmThey all get a similar amount except for clubs which need financial assistance who receive more. This is equalisation so meg clubs dont dominate. It's hardly a revolutionary model
No wonder you can't get ya head around TV ratings...…..you've got nothing!!!!!! I bet you kept your primary school remedial maths teacher busy!!!!! Idiocy!!!!!

Re: AFL CLUB DEBTS & PROFITS
he does not seem concerned with it at all. and loves the AFL model
$14mill is absurd to most punters out there.
Appartently the AFL will step up its game for the GOLD COAST SUNS>
we could be looking at record territory $$$

love is a strong word. I think the model is a necessary evil for a country where there are many competing sports which do not have a strong presence in every area.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Thu Dec 06, 2018 11:05 amhe does not seem concerned with it at all. and loves the AFL model

getting community backing.. and after years of developing this
you can or may insert a team. where it can run on its own too feet.
if it is unable to do so, a team should not be placed here..
Re: AFL CLUB DEBTS & PROFITS
Grass roots expansion will accelerate far quicker if the kids have a local team to follow and play for if they get to that level. You fund the team until they are self-sufficient (if you can)leeroy*NRL* wrote: Thu Dec 06, 2018 12:08 pmyou expand by doing grassroots in the sport in that areaNlolRL wrote: Thu Dec 06, 2018 11:19 amlove is a strong word.
