AFL should take soccer's FIFA to court for stealing the name football.
Anyway in Australia, Friday Night Football and Saturday Night football on television will never never mean your going to sit down to a game of soccer.
In half of Australia you mean. Nobody calls AFL football in QLD and NSW.

Is just called AFL.

So RL is teeball?

You're failing dismally here
Fail dismally, as in getting a point when you miss a shot at goal?
:(/

Yep AFL is a real football code, but we throw the ball in backwards when it goes out onto a round field with 6 goals. :drunk: :drunk:

What drugs were you Victorians on when you came up with those rules for a game of football?
your entire game is based on throwing backwards :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

This whole AFL rule changes is gripping the Melbourne Public

Seven Melb to air VFL match

Seven Melbourne will broadcast a VFL Coburg v Werribee match this Saturday as the AFL trials its potential new rules around a larger goal square.

Seven Melbourne managing director Lewis Martin said: “Fans have been incredibly engaged and passionate in their views on rule changes. This trial and broadcast gives the fans a chance to see it for themselves.”

The AFL will trial the use of a larger goal square for kick outs for the entire game, along with set ups of six midfielders, six forwards and six defenders for each centre-square bounce through the entire match.

Coburg v Werribee
2pm Live Saturday August 4 on Channel 7 in Victoria.

Is actually diagonally backwards and your watching who you pass it to.

In AFL is like the ref being a bride and throwing the flowers backwards for all the bridesmaids.

Is that where AFL got the idea, from weddings? :(/ =D

No sport in the world throws a ball in backwards without looking where you throw it lol..

it's the umpire you goose, not the players.

Unique parts of each game make them different, not wrong. If there were no differences every game would be the same

Yeah different like men deciding they want to wear womens clothes.
Different is not always good.

The AFL is less of a football code because the playing area is different?
A other one of the lamest arguments I've ever seen. Rugby league has by far the least right to consider themselves "football". "But it's a rectangle field like other footballz". You just used soccer pitches coz it was more convenient. We used cricket.

Backwards is backwards no matter how you dress it up.
A bit like the NRL growth trajectory.

You only call it lame because the truth hurts lol

Playing football on a cricket pitch, you just lost the arguement there lol..  =D =D

Every real football code plays on a rectangular pitch.

Having 3 goals with no crossbars on each end of tge field, AFL is about as football as a game of netball.

AFL IS FAKE FOOTBALL NEWS :(/

Football on a cricket pitch, what a bunch backward hicks

A bit like the NRL growth trajectory.
A growth strategy with more Pacific Island nations playing the game than ever before.

A growth strategy with a reserve grade club in PNG.

A new professional Rugby League team in Canada.

How is AFL international growth strategy going? Embarrassments in China & New Zealand with exhibition matches.

Still no teams outside Australia  =D

the AFL will never have a Professional club outside Australia Unless it is planted there
and propped up 20-30million each year for the next 20 years +

That may be true, a bit like Rugby League teams outside their traditional markets.
Case point, Toronto wolf pack in Canada are proped up by a group of ten wealthy tycoons, if some of them withdraw it's game over please turn out the lights when you leave.
