All 8 NRL matches were very much alive at half time. 6 could have gone either way with 5 to go and 4 of those went down to the final minute, 3 the final second.

And that is pretty much the norm
If closer games appeal to fans why did 2 nrl games today get a crowd of 15k COMBINED?
You mean the two games that were watched by nearly half a million people on PTV while Australia was winning Gold, Gold, Gold and more Gold in the swimming?
Thats hardly a feat, especially when turning in the tv takes zero effort. Again, if your even comp is so exciting why such deplorable turnouts? The AFLs 3 games yesterday drew around 150k. How does that happen when apparently the NRLs comp is more exciting?

exactly, especially in light of the fact channel changing was your excuse a few days ago. It must be awfully hard keeping track of all these excuses you make. Why not just simply say when Melbournians where given a choice a lot more people chose the excitement of the swimming rather than the boring crap there force fed each week

Exactly, how insecure are you people. This is textbook memo 88 stuff; deny, deny, deny then if all else fails turn the conversation to crowds

As opposed to your avoid avoid avoid? Your claims of a superior closer league are all hot air when your crowds are so far behind.

Crowds have fuck all to do with which code is more even .
Stop deflecting .
We are talking about if bottom placed teams ...the bookies outsiders are capable of beating the top favourite teams .

It happens frequently in RL

Rarely in AFL .

And as ive asked before, and youve ignored, why is a more even comp important? What does it provide the sport?

I wouldn't say it is hugely important for a more even comp>> but its better to have an
even and fair comp.

but I would like to reflect on the way the AFL runs its comp..

cough cough GIANTS AND SUNS "trying to build them in to BIG CLUBS"

at the expense of other teams! (this is an unfair comp)

and before you go on about expanison sides (blah blah blah)
NO! LEG UPS whatever the circumstances

1. You still havent said why an even comp is important

2. How are the AFL trying to build the giants and swans into big clubs?

1. I said it is not hugely important to have a even comp....

which I answered with the Giants and the Suns>> not the Swans>>

cmon NLOLRL

you know what the AFL have done to the Giants for the last 6 years>>
Building Academies
players concessions
bigger salary cap
top draft picks
millions and millions more each year than any other club
and many more advantages..

and before you go saying>> expansion club>>
no buddy>> its a leg up to get the club winning to build support and build a base from>>

the AFL know how important the Sydney market is and they are doing there best
by giving teams a leg up>>

again> no other comp in the world does it>>
