50,000 signatures? Population of NSW is 7.5 million, LOL come back when you get 4 million then we might have something.
50K aint nothing to sneeze at. There's obviously a pretty strong sentiment out there

Funny how a song and dance wasn't made when the AFL got $100's of Millions for 3 stadiums for a niche sport in NSW. But yea so easy to pile on. Sorry but Sydney is getting 2 stadiums built for the cost of 1 of Perths. And there would have been a lot less hoopla if the AFL heavy SCG trust kept their nose out of the trough but hey, what would it be without the AFL trying to get their nose in.

As it is, I predict ANZ won't get up which will keep the AFL fan boys happy

Perth fill their stadium weekly and the tenants have a waiting list for memberships just to attend a game. The city needed a new stadium.

Where as attendance in sydney for RL is poor and doesnt warrant expensive stadia upgrades for no real benefit

the AFL didn't get crap!
the show grounds got up graded for a number of reasons and teams
yet for gws but for also, the sydney thunder, wsw and some NRLOL teams have played there as well

perth got their first new stadium in nearly 100 years, and its a multi purpose that will host sokka, rugby and retarby, cricket and AFL games and if you have any idea how big a following the eagles and dockers have, they have waiting lits on their memberships that people pay an annual fee for just to be on that waiting list!

compare that to allianz stadium it was built in 1990 and ANZ 1999! yet you ignore the new up grades to parramatta stadium and all the club grounds the tax payer gets reamed for as the clubs mini sized casinos some how have no money to pay for any ground related issues

for nearly every game of aye league NRLOL, H&A and even finals series the crowds are plain straight out shit!

but but but :)))

So far removed from reality it's not funny
How can you say that the AFL got crap ..
Here's some questions you won't answer because it will show how fucked in the head you are

Who plays the most games at the SCG
Who plays the most games at spotless/ Showgrounds

Funny enough, the Wanderers are the major tenant at souless whilst we are waiting for Parra to be built LOL, GWS can't get anything right. But that is only for 3 years. Showground, blacktown and SCG upgraded mostly for AFL

The Stadiums are not just for the NRL>
there are other sports who will play here>>

this is not even including all the other events that will use the stadiums.

the NSW Government will make there money back on 2.5billions stadiums deal in 10 years>

I wonder how long the Perth government will take ....

As another day passes, more than 40,000 new signatories to the petition.

https://www.change.org/p/premier-bereji ... c-stadiums

Now over 90,000 NSW taxpayers expressing their disapproval of this government spending. Me thinks the government has misread the politics here and Luke Foley as next Premier will benefit.

so beaussie, let me ask you, why didn't you kick up a song and dance like this when the AFL got over $300 million for stadiums in Sydney? Why wasn't that a waste?

I know, but I think it illustrates it nicely. The AFL want everything but want to deny anybody else the same. Where as you see ARU, NRL and FFA working together all the time.

Perhaps you can show us the specific AFL requests for as you put it $300 million from
the NSW government? If I remember correctly, other than a joint funding submission by Cricket NSW and the AFL for Blacktown, the Showgrounds request was submitted by the Royal Agricultural Society for the Easter Show and other events such as concerts, Big Day Out etc and the SCG was redeveloped for the cricket World Cup and Ashes. The AFL were merely other beneficiaries.

What rubbish. Heard Ray Hadley on radio this morning talking to parents of critically ill children who are are continually being told potentially life saving surgery needs to be postponed due to a lack of intensive care unit beds at the children’s hospital in Sydney (due to lack of funding). As one parent said this morning, where are this government’s priorities when stadium rebuilds and compensation to affected football clubs comes before saving the lives of sick children?
