QRL grand final was played the week before 11,260 (a record)
https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/sport/ ... 4yw3i.html

NSWRL grand final was played the week before the NRL GF before about 5,000
(Wikipedia only source I can find)

There arent figures for the NRL Grand FInal curtain raiser game that I can find.
The winners from both states played off on GF day. As did the U'18's even without figures we know the crowds were there and were good.

You're obsessed with AFL not being international .... we know Australian Rules is Australian . Aussie rules fans just don't care that much.

They get 80thousand 2 or 3 times a year in Australia.

They also got 90k to a league game in Melbourne Only behind the AFL Grand Final That year. If im not mistaken didn't GWS get less than 15k when they played a semi final in Sydney just a few weeks ago :(/ :(/ :(/

2 or 3 times..........yay for us :(/

How many times have the storm got small finals crowds? and theyre the only RL club in Melbourne, unlike GWS who share Sydney with the swans (who get crowds of 40k for finals)

At least we have more than one pro comp in the world ...contrary to what you continually post .
But but but
Why isn’t it anywhere near as popular as union?

It’s not like AFL has had an advantage of anywhere near league had to be popular on the world stage

Rugby league has had many issues over the years..

did you know RUGBY LEAGUE was banned by the French Government

http://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-league/24547273

During the Second World War, in association with the French Rugby Union Federation (FFR), the sport was banned by the Vichy government, an act from which it has struggled to recover. There has been a recent resurgence of the sport following the admission of Catalans Dragons to the European Super League. In 2012, there were approximately 30,000 active participants
