I"m talking about the whole season not a few cherry picked games. RL won aggregate and average.
if I was comparing single weekends, or single games you would have a point about cherry picking. But I'm comparing 8 finals games v 8 finals games. 80-100 FTA games v 80-100 FTA games. Over 100 payTV games v over 100 payTV games. The AFL won every measure!
If the NRL was number one on TV they would win most if not all of these comparisons. Yet they won none. The only thing they lead in is a comparison of TV scheduling. More rounds, far more games in isolation, and more games in prime time. It means nothing when comparing popularity, all it means is Ch9 and fox have better control of the NRL fixture to maximise potential ratings for maximum revenue.

As long as you've talked yourself into that convoluted rubbish you can be happy.

Can you elaborate? Which part is incorrect?

Pretty much everything you've said.
AFL - about 120m , NRL over 130 m

well address the points then................
You cant simply run back to your accumulative (and meaningless) victory and stick your head in the sand. If RL is number 1 on TV why cant it win a fair comparison? Why did it lose again, and again, and again, and again?

This could go on forever.
I would put forth that regardless of whatever metric you want to throw out and manipulate for your own advantage ... the simple fact that cannot be disputed is that the AFL is the biggest sporting body that n this country. By a long way.

how about giving it a try Terry. Try to justify why the cumulative ratings 'gold' is the most important, or of any relevance at all. You need at least one gold from last year. You lost everything else

Geez it's hard work with these bubble living fumblers. The bottom line is RL had many million more viewers than fumbleball in 2016. Strangely enough that means it was the most watched sport in Australia last year. The fumblers won some comparisons and RL won others but in the end RL had the most viewers despite playing less games.
If there is any of that you don't understand please go and ask ya mama.

other than the tally which comparison did the NRL win?
According to the year's tally RL was the most watched for year, but as a measure of popularity how is that relevant when both codes have completely different TV schedules? It's like saying the news is more popular than MKR when the news is on 7 days a week compared to 3 times, and MKR rates higher per game

not surprised you couldn't justify your illogical claim.
4 gold to 1 spells a resounding victory to the AFL
