I think you may be onto something there hence the old ru v rl rivalary culture that we now see with rl against AFL. Even the same arguements in some cases like AFL is the rich persons game -- whereas this is not the case in AFL states as it is the only game for so long.

Explain how RL was going nowhere .
Your logic is if AFL expands its going great .
Yet in 95 RL expanded .added 4 teams .
But that's going nowhere.
RL expansion has been totally embarrassing. How do you call it expansion when Adelaide and Perth are booted out within a few years of their establishment? What a joke.
National Rugby League lol
Anyway that aside, Rugby must have major worries from a proposed breakaway Comp to the embarrassment that is the Wallabies. Never hear any talk of the Waratahs anymore either. Gee whiz, the code has gone downhill in a massive way since the highs of the Rugby World Cup held in Australia.
& what the fuck has that got to do with the claim that RL was going nowhere before the SL war?
I've posted where there were 4 teams added in 95 before the war .
I never mentioned Adelaide .
What is wrong with you fumblers .
Deflect deflect deflect .
A claim was made .
I've asked for something to back that up .
I'm still waiting .
They really have no idea these fumblers. AFL would have suffered the same fate if it had a rival competion in that era with multimillion dollar court battles.

Yep .
Apparently expanding teams into new areas is not going anywhere
According to the resident dingbat Perth Townsville & Auckland are suburbs of Sydney .
Funny thing is when the AFL put teams in new areas it's a great move ...growing the game ...blah blah
Lol
Words cannot describe the idiocy of fumbler thinking.

It is great that AFL is able to capture this market which it seems was largely untapped.

Lol that's not answering my question .
Go read what I asked .
The question was not about what teams got sacrificed when the SL war was over .
It's about how you claimed that the comp was going no where before it .
How you say teams in NQ PERTH & AICKLAND are basically a suburban comp
How far is the suburb of Auckland from the suburb of Perth
Geez Sydney is a big city .
Come on dingbat . I've got ya cornered .
Try to answer without deflecting

I have no idea what rl was doing before sl however re expanding the game i think the nrl have not taken the risks and played it top safe thus far. Whilst teams in qld in new areas is expanding it is not reaching into nom traditional markets like when they did with the storm. I am not sure if storm was pre or post sl by the way. But storm were just plonked there... it did not seem like a genuine attempt to grow the game. Appeared little work done on growing grass roots as to be honest i do not think that was the aim. Look at the AFL in western sydney.. and whilst they did a lot wrong they invested heavily at grass roots and we see aussie rules ovals and goal posts as AFL worked with developers to put these in when being designed. Also into schools and funding school programmes i believe. Now that may not necessarily work but we have seen a growth in aussie rules clubs i believe in the area. The point is they are trying to expand and grow the game. I know many rl people who think the nrl is too risk adverse and should have gone onto perth ages ago this time around.

A team in Perth will have next to no chance in happening!
The tin foil hat mob live in a fantasy land that having a team their will be successful.
Despite being a heavy dominated AFL state the lolly people that would be interested in a nrlol club would be the ex NZ der's & South Africans due to union
As well as a nrlols club financial backbone the old poker machine & leagues club cannot happen due to the gaming laws

You should have stopped after your first sentence .
You admitted you know little
Go read about it before commenting why this or that happened .
I am arguing with the village idiot about pre SL war.
Not after .
Not now
He made a bullshit claim .
You know what it was . I've asked about 5 times .
Yet he can't answer
Come on dingbat .
How far apart are Auckland & Perth .
What Syd postcodes do they have .
How is introducing 4 new teams in 1995 ......going nowhere .
Why can't you answer

I think that is the reason they need to go to perth... as it is a very minor sport but does have some interest that could be built upon. Even if zero interest ... that alone is the reason to go. That is expansion and growing the game. Putting teams into already nrl areas is not expanding or growing the game i believe.
