I WIll Say

Sharks to win In a very close game..
Swans be to good by 40.

NRL will win the ratings this weekend on the back of the Melbourne viewers..
Should be over 600k tuning in Melbourne.

Can the NRL make it 3 years in a row

I wanted to have an avatar bet with a fumbler . But none will step up .

More Melb viewers will watch the NRL GF than Syd viewers watch the AFLOL .

After all the talk of how great AFL is going in Syd
Biggest team blah blah
& how insignificant the storm & RL are in Melb ...not one is willing to back it up .

They all go to water when asked to back their sport up .

How was my answer garbage? It's pretty common for people to watch a program in the evening they wouldnt change plans for to see in the day time. I watch the news in the evening. I'd never change my plans to watch the news int he daytime. This is why prime time is prime time, people watch TV because they have far less going on than in the day time
And a viewer has a lot more choices in prime time. You wont see many Elvis Presley re-runs or episodes of Bonanza during Prime time.
There are just as many channels on Saturday arvo as sunday evening. The difference is most people are home on Sunday night while most are out on Saturday arvo. Why do you think networks show their most popular shows on sunday night despite good competition from other channels? Despite the competition they still get better ratings than showing it out of prime time.

The other issue here is melbourne is a sporting city, while sydney seem quite ambivalent to sport. Ratings for the nrl finals from Sydney have been pretty uninspiring
Its not the channels its what's on them!

Really, then why does the NRL attract more viewers year in year out with less matches?
Because the scheduling is totally different. The finals showed game v game comparisons with similar scheduling, and the NRL was embarrassed. Over 700k less on Saturday

AFL is going well, youd be hard pressed to say otherwise goven Saturday's epic ratings. However a non prime time v prime time comparison isnt fair, especially when the market we are comparing isnt heartland. Many Melbournians will tune in because its a convenient time to watch. Far less would watch if it was on in the Arvo.

I'll have an avatar bet on the total figure though, which is the important one after all

Thatll also effect the ratings, which ever gf is a blowout. Hoping the dogs have enough petrol in the tank aftee beating the eagles interstate, the reigning premiers, then the favourites interstate.

The Weather in Melbourne this week (could help with the closeness of the game)
if Footscray win it, It will be an almighty effort
WEST COAST, HAWKS, AFL GIANTS, SWANS
pretty impressive

and Melbourne is riding them home.

If say say so cockhead24. AFL got beaten by the NRL Grand final by half a million viewers in total nation tv rating last year.

That is a lame excuse. Everyone still knows when the AFL grand final is on and if you liked AFL you would still watch it whether it is in the day or at night.

I totally agree those who want to watch either GF will watch i no matter what time of day its on. But there are a substantial amount of people who only watch TV in prime time. An example is the Aussie open tennis. It never made the top 10 programs of the year when played on Sunday arvo, but when it moved to Sunday night its regularly featured as one of the years top programs. Why? Because more people are home in the evening. Simple

Before I take you up on that offer. What does the swans and storm compare in the tv ratings previously over the years say? Too lazy to look up etc.

And wait you actually think Storm are more followed in Melbourne then Swans in Sydney? :(/

lame or not, not everyone can get out of work to watch the footy, no matter how much they like it.

Ive said it before, theres a reason Seven continually push for the final to be moved to a night game. By your logic, they shouldnt give a shit.
There are more prime time shows to compete with at night so can be a disadvantage too.

Also AFL has two extra States that the NRL don't even have teams. Really no excuse with the massive advantages AFL has.
