Is womens rugby league more international though?

There is womens AFL in the United States, Canada, Ireland, United Kingdom, and PNG too. France has a national AFL womens side and, at least according to AFL Europe, there are womens AFL activities in other countries throughout Europe.

"AFL Europe has female football activities in Ireland, Scotland, England, France, Switzerland, Italy and Iceland. Ireland has an established league, the other countries are participating in some internationals and looking to have leagues develop over the coming years. On top of that many of the men’s leagues around Europe have females participating."

As a professional televised sport. Womans Rugby League is more International than AFL.
Show me one professional international mens game of AFL between two countries like this womans rugby league match between Australia and New Zealand.
So the topic point that mens AFL is less international than womens rugby league clearly has merit.

It's hilarious
hows the national womans NRLOL league going?
Not bad, their last game on FTA TV on CH9 replayed after Friday night football a month ago rated well over 300k. To get those numbers in Sydney, the Swans would have to play at least 6 games while the other lot would need 10 :(/

No Fred this predates that - the first girl was actually in Balgowlah Sydney in the early 80's in the U10's - U12's, she would now be in her late 40's. I know because I played with Seaforth JFC which was affiliated with Balgowlah at the time and it was on one of the national news program as she couldn't keep playing after U12's.

Shes in her late 40s to... Nearly 50 actually. All i know is that from time to time journalist ring her for a story as the first female to play. I am assuming they go this information from some where.

Indeed. In fact it seems time lines are similar. She is 49 now and played in like under 11s makinh that 39 years ago roughly. I guess the papers call for a reson?

Haha even our Touch Rugby League gets TV exposure already with both men's and women's game featuring plus the added bonus of mixed teams, it's all Rugby League

I say, 25 nations last time with over 100 teams partaking, not bad and shown on channel 9.

http://www.nrl.com/touch-football-to-be ... fault.aspx

I've often seen Womens Touch Rugby League on TV over the years, wwos used to show quite a lot.

Seeing females playing rugby league is not something new that the AFL media are portraying and in fact the ladies have had heaps of television exposure in NSW and QLD over the years, bout time you rednecks caught up from the dumb states.

Female sports some of I have seen for years on TV in no particular order.

Basketball
Netball
Soccer/Football
Cricket
Rugby League
Rugby Union
Hockey
Touch Rugby League
Rugby League 9's
Rugby Union 7's

And any amount of individual sports or doubles or medleys as in swimming, Tennis and whatnot.

No AFL tho.

Hey wook

Show me where being more "international" is defined soley as professional, that is if we're done moving the goal posts.
Well if AFL had all these players like they claim in overseas nations. They would be able to field decent overseas teams that could play competively in AFL test matches.

They could have Pacific Nations
PNG
Samoa
Fiji
Tonga

Or Four Nations
New Zealand
Scotland
Australia
England

Any sport can call themselves international with amateur comps around the world.

Is easy to name a few amateur competions around the world for rugby league that AFL does'nt.

Lebanon

Czech Republic

Vanuatu

You could add Softball to that list as well.

Even Camogie (which is the female version of Hurling) is televised in Ireland.

Oh FFS give me a break no one watches women in these sports on tv either with netball being the only exception. Even the female soccer gets nothing but crickets no matter how much they try to force it down people's throats!
