Hahaha so you have nothing - Xman has made a really good point and all you keep doing is trotting out the same crap - you are not very objective. And it's not unusual that clubs in competitions take advantage of rules and changes in rules it happens from the EPL and even in the NRL. A classic example of what Xman is talking about is the go home of the storm players. They got around that by simple breakung the salary cap. In the end it doesn't matter to this thread as your point is irrelevant - Swans membership is now 50,242. Which must be really upsetting you

It has everything to do with it. An even and fair comp has every team experiencing exactly the same conditions. Neither the NRL or the AFL have this. The NRL give preference to the Broncos through massive FTA exposure compared to most other teams. The comp owners funded the Storm to give them massive success when they had little to no local following.

The non heartland AFL clubs are automatically disadvantaged due to their location so they are compensated to even the competition. If it was an unfair advantage you would have seen the clubs from QLD and NSW dominating, yet they havent, not by a long shot

Salary cap isnt the only thing that influences success

Having a higher salary cap doesnt automatically mean success either, as has been shown. What it does do is help non heartland clubs keep players that would otherwise be more tempted to go back to their home state. We see this every year, including last year when Dangerfield, one of the AFL's top few players, headed back to his home region of Geelong. Judd was another example, heading back to Melbourne from a succesful team in Perth. Non-homeland clubs can do with extra incentive to keep players because they are less likely to benefit from stars heading back to NSW or QLD.

If it was an unfair advantage Sydney would have had far more success, not 1 GF in 50 years

Off field the powers that be can help expansion or struggling clubs .

Your assumption is on-field allowances are all that influences success or failure, which is just patently wrong. I have no issue with the Swans being given a leg up in the salary cap because firtsly it negates the go home factor to some degree, and secondly it hasnt resulted in a disproportionate amount of success.

But the thing is that the comp will NEVER be even Melb clubs don't (and Sydney NRL clubs for that matter) travel as many times as interstate clubs, interstate clubs don't get to play on the MCG (or ANZ) as often and that's where the GF is played, players who are father/son less likely to go to their fathers club (e.g. Murphy/Brisbane, Dinkley/Sydney). Then there's the draw where teams don't play all sides twice. They have the luxury of players not having to uproot their life's and go home even if under contract (Macarthy GWS) and as Xman has pointed out the go home factor is enormous - until all those things are equalised how can you say any Comp is equal, aside from which in 2012 we didn't have any players who were drafted with cola money, we won the premiership against a more highly rated Hawthorne team cola played no part until Eddie made it an issue. Furthermore all those sides that poached the best kids in NSW, Smith, Breust, Walker, they got that advantage and gave nothing back to NSW AF. So again your argument is really flawed.
