The 357K regional were for Thursday night - Think tv.
Assuming our Sky number are similar to last yeat we will get close to 1.3m for Thursday night . I wonder what XMan will have to say about that

It would beaten just about every AFL match during, last years, regular season
Mar-03 Parra V Bri metro 674k , regional 357k , Fox 210K , Sky ? = 1240k

think TV doesn't count Gem. That's 65 more.
So the main channel + gem = 670 + regionals = 1030 + fox = 1240 with sky still to be added.
Imagine the numbers when we have a close game

Thursday night was on the main channel wasnt it?
Anyway, opening game, no other sport on FTA, so we'll see how the season pans out.
How'd the Friday night go?

Nielsen closes the door on specific TV ratings enquiries from journalists
nstead, the research company will provide a weekly top 20 breakdown of programmes for One, TV2, TV3, Four, Prime and Sky in the 5+ and 25-54 demographics.
Nielsen research director Tony Boyte says this change in policy is also applicable across newspapers, magazines and online.
“Standardised audience reports will be produced each week going forward that will be made available to all journalists on request,” says Boyte. “This approach is more streamlined and enables Nielsen to better manage client service resources.”

so almost 4.4million viewers for the week (excluding NZ ratings)
with 3 one sided FTA games
looking like a big year for the NRL ratings wise.

Fox ratings average: up 8% per game.
FTA ratings average: down 14% per game.
Total ratings average: up 12% per game.
Its worth noting that 440,000 more viewers watched rubgy league in round 1 this year compared to last year.
Crowds were however down 18% - about 25,000 in raw numbers.
No actual graph of the results like usual ?
Those increases are without NZ which you had in your spread sheets last year. Massive increase. :D
Crowds are down due to the schedule (games Thursday to Monday) that all changes in the new TV deal, no huge games played in round 1.
