for starters it shows that the same program will rate far higher in prime time than non prime time. Secondly, the fact it also did so in ratings times, like last Sunday, shows it is consistent all year round.

The GF in both codes have been institutions on the box for 60 years now, everyone knows when these two games are played as you can not get way from the attention they bring.

that completely ignores the fact that AFL and NRL games played on Saturday night far outrate Saturday afternoon games. Thats on FTA and PayTV. Why? Because far more people are home in the evening than during the day.

isnt there nothing else on TV during session 1 and 2? The reason that Perth's session 3 rates better is people are home and watching TV

The AFL value the tradition of a Saturday afternoon GF over the extra money from TV rights. Why wouldnt they? They earn more from TV revenue, and far more from attendance membership and sponsorship.
