While GWS still can't people in the West after 3 years and millions extra spent in promotion.
Oh but but it's a 30 year project now. Yep 30 years to convince people AFL is actually a real sport. =D>
But only one year for a Soccer team.

The story here is how a 30 year old professional league team in that sports so called heart land had at best 6000 to a game. Thats pathetic as are the arguments trying to defend it.

what as oppose to sydney cold?
Melbourne is freezing during the winter months and doesn't seem to affect the crowds, further down the road in geelong or in Tasmania the term cold is at new levels, they have open stadiums as well

Well yeah dumbo, Sydney doesn't have the snowy mountains next door blowing a gail each day of Winter now does it?

Gdubbyahave a city of five million to draw on. Canberra 300 odd thou. Gdubbyas home ground has winter temps that avg almost 10 degrees higher than canberra. Rl is a sport which is made for television ie a linear code where almost all players can easily be fit on the one camera angle. Marngrook is non linear on an oversize field where it's nigh on impossible to see what's going on anywhere but where the ball is. Therefore people are more drawn to attend marngrook games for a good game experience.
Gdubbyaes gets millions of additional funding and additional draft picks. Canberra don't.
And Yet canberra and gdubbyaes have almost the same crowd avgs.
It's nothing short of hilarious.
Yet their averages are about the same

Just short of 17000 in Tassie today in a city of 100,000. It was a bit chilly down there as well, seems it's just the hard men of league that have trouble with cold weather in winter.

What is with league fans and weather, bit nippy or a touch of rain and the poor dears can't leave the house. It's a reason why crowds are so poor but hardly an excuse, big cup of concrete needed ladies.

Hard work trying to defend a crowd of 6000 big guy, the keyboard tough guys of fight club don't want to step outside to watch the so called greatest game of all unless it's 22 and sunny in the middle of winter. Time to go a pair and maybe buy a bennie, very soft behaviour.

The weather is not the issue, 6000 people turning up to a game of professional sport is the issue here champ. The fact it was a bit chilly for league fans to turn up is reflection on the sport as well as the soft fans.
