Why would we care that the NRL is on TV in a tiny nation who follow RU?
How can that be right when New Zealand have a population of about 4.5 million?
More than AFL states Western Australia and South Australia and combined.
Plenty of Kiwis like Rugby League too. They are currently ranked the number 1 Rugby League team in the world after beating Australia and England a few times.
Sure Union will always be number one there. But with the amount of good Kiwi players in the NRL. It more than proves the game is doing well there.
AFL can't even field an overseas team to compete against Australia. The sport is that small.
And AFL pretty much never makes the sports news there. Always news about the NRL and the Warriors though.
The papers don't even have an AFL section lol.. Is like AFL does not exist there.

Impressive figures all round. Will be interesting to see how game 3 rates.
Yep now if you could only get people to turn up at your second competition you know the NRL, do you think your 1st grade (SOO) will ever expand to more teams or will they stay with the 2 team 3 round comp???? Hahaha do you really think it's good for the game that this is now the main comp and the NRL club competition is now just a second rate comp with crowds of 8k??? Can't be happy with that!!
Ah the jealousy and fear of the AFL fan. Knowing they will never have anything like State of Origin.
Then getting record crowds when Souths play in Perth. So much room for Rugby League to grow in Australia

Just answer one question how many games of NRL are broadcast live into Melb on FTA each week?? Answer none and that's the interest level!
there is 2 live games broadcast into Melbourne each week.
and 3 when there is a Thursday night game.
AND 3 SOO games
Internationals
and Finals.

NEW ZEALAND
UNION might be number 1
the two Rugby Codes.
LEAGUE is number 2
they don't give the NRL $20million a year for nothing.

You realise that most NRL games, and pretty much all games that arent Origin, Finals or Warriors games are consistently outrated by Netball coverage in NZ right? I wouldnt be surprised if the Netball average was close to the NRLs 36k average. (Super Rugby averages 71k...almost double that for games involving NZ sides.
That's because it is on SKY SPORTS.
and its non New Zealand Teams mostly playing...
Weird though, If Sky Sports pay the NRL 20million a Year,
what does the Netball get paid, for 5 N.Z Teams involved.
I don't think its anywhere near the 20mill figure.

He also forgets the 2 hour difference, hence a 7:30 game kicking off here is 9:30 in NZ.
Friday night games kick off at 10pm each week and SOO doesn't start till 10:15pm with the way Nien yap and shove every voice or renovation show down our throats.

Women's netball is one of the bigger sports in NZ. Funny that, AFL doesn't rate at all.

NZ has a population of under 5 million. So the Warriors on PTV in NZ get better rating than any Aussie AFL or nrl side do on Fox.

NZ are a massive asset to rugby league
and it will only get bigger.
N.Z probably contribute more tv ratings to the NRL
then NSW AND QLD do to the AFL
