Who is crowing about it anyway - no one were just commenting that the NRL is not a great deal better - if it wasn't for SOO how bad would it be??? AFL gets same crowd with 2 games of club footy yet this fact is lost on you!!!

gotta love it! GWS getting similar crowds, despite winning wooden spoons in their 4 year existence. in expansion territory, then you have several games of NRLOl this year having attendances of 8 to 10 k by the NRLOL in their own heart land :_<>

theyre an expansion team having a middle of the road season after 3 terrible seasons, yet already out draw many NRL heartland teams. The question should be "what the fck is wrong with the NRL in Sydney"

That was not an NRL heartland team crowd. Honestly looked to be in the hundreds. Less than NRL Monday night games.

The AFLs Giants really have little hope in engaging a multicultural area when it it pretty much just a white Australians game bar a few Aboriginals.

They tried their best by paying a fortune for an Islander to play Izzy. But that fell flat on AFLs face didn't it lol

I honestly can't see Islanders ever liking AFL like they follow League and Union. Little hope at all.

Ive asked this question before: what crowds and member numbers do the giants need to be considered viable given the local heartland sport averages around 14k?

As has been stated many many many times .
Membership culture is a Aflol thing .
& excatly how many are from WS?
Crowds are interesting .
Official numbers are laughed at by us ,AFlol fans on Bf
Sometimes the media.

When they claim the ground is a 1/3 full & nearly the whole top deck is empty & about 1in 5 or 6 seats ( being generous) is occupied then it becomes laughable .

Luckily when they play a bigger Vic team there is plenty of travelling fans to make it look like the midgets have some fans .

Yep agree entirely ......but you would also have to agree that Manly, West Tigers, Canberra, East Sydney and Gold Coast Titans are in the same boat!!! Why do you continually throw mud at GWS when NRL teams are in the same boat? Not very objective there crapper.

I've stated that some NRL crowds are very suspect .
But nothing is as blatant as the crowd numbers for the midgets.

so answer the question. How many members and what average crowd should the Giants have after only 4 seasons and no finals appearances?

Your just making this up - this was never said - they said it was a 25 year project and it would be a tough sell! Western Sydney has a large migrant population most of whom come from countries who only play soccer so why is their success a surprise - don't re-write history to suit your argument!

4 years of being into the 25 year project & being the league's bunnies they are about to overtake the wests tuggers & penrith panthers who are 60 plus years into their 600 year project to become relevant
