There is no dominant code country wide .

Northern States is RL .
Simple ,you can't argue against those facts .

AFL easy spazza
it gets the most revenue, largest broadcast deal, the clubs revenues, memberships & sponsorships are decades ahead of the NRLOL
NRL has zero presents in VIC, SA, WA, TAS & NT
the Swans are the largest team in NSW (look at their stats) even someone as stupid as you can't argue about that
the Lions get better crowd & membership numbers than MOST NRLOL clubs
the NRLOL is only half relevant thanks to the superleague wars. now that that is all dead and buried. we have the ratings, & H&A crowds going down for the 3rd year in a row
the next decade the NRLOL will be as relevant as the A league is

there is no single dominant code, but there certainly is a more dominant code, and thats the AFL

who cares? Im sure the NFL dont care their game hasnt spread to other nations
Your totally wrong. NFL is just the name of the competition. The actual sport is called Grid Iron.
And Grid Iron as a sport has a whole other professional league in Canada.
http://www.cfl.ca
You see Xman. Even Grid Iron is followed in two countries. Facts are facts. After a 100 years AFL fail miserably at even getting a neighbouring country to take interest in their game.
AFL really is the football code that no other country wants a bar of professionally.
The womens Grid Iron even does better than AFL on an international level.

Canada is hardly a big stretch from the USA. Dont they have baseball and NH clubs that play in US leagues?
It's a ridiculous notion to think a small country like Australia would be able to spread it's national game overseas. We just dont have the international influence like the USA or the UK. RL will always be more international because of the UK's influence on commonwealth nations.
But why should it spread? It wont change its popularity in Australia

Well New Zealand is hardly a big stretch from Australia and AFL still has pretty much no following there while Rugby League does.
Ridiculous is the word though that other countries come up with when they see AFL.
And what ever way you look at it, Canada is a different country that plays Grid Iron.
The fact is AFL is very limited with growth if no other country takes interest in the sport. It's international cup is a farce with no TV network wanting it the standard is that bad.

RL has a following in NZ because of the UK's influence on their culture, and because RU is popular in NZ. Despite their differences they are similar enough to be followed by the same set of fans. Aussie rules is a very different game.
The AFL wont grow overseas, I havent got an issue with it at all
In fact NFL is a good example. It is huge in the USA and despite the USA's massive influence world-wide it hasnt spread to any other continent in any professional level. Why? Basketball has. Why arent there professional gridiron leagues world-wide like there is in basketball?

It was. 32000 at today's test match. You lads at the AFL struggle weekly to get one game close to 20 thousand.

PFF. You guys are legends in your own minds. Only your grand final sometimes gets over 30k. Besides AFL is only in Victoria. Outside it is either unheard of or unliked.
