Ummmm, Friday night whether you like it or not had a delayed game shown into qld and a live game in nsw, the ratings for that time slot suggests around 1.2 million were watching between 7:30 and 9:30pm.

The regionals were not far from 500k.

but it was still 2 games combined with one being a supposed blockbuster, and the other involving your largest club. Yet it is soundly beaten by a single AFL game involving 2 teams from one city, not shown in prime time, and by a margin in the order of 33%

It doesn't matter, if ch9 has eyeballs watching at that time, its ratings that the other stations don't get.

Same as the AFL deal, they get to show the game on 2 channels at once and use all the ratings, things are not equal whatever way you look at it, so the ratings must count for something.

Heres the thing about wanting the sporting crown. You actually have to events and the facilties to prove it.

Maybe Adelaide would draw the same for the F1s. Except they havent got an F1 race. Melbourne does.
Maybe everywhere else would draw the same for Boxing day...except they cant because not only do they not have the boxing day test, they dont have a cricket ground capable of taking that many people.
Ok I Agree with your points.

though Melbourne is a Fishbowl and they think there is only one code of Rugby

Also I hate the Origin being in Melbourne, the Atmosphere will be Dull..
like it was at Eithad...

You cant always look into that..

Think of it this way.. Brisbane game was played into Brisbane market and rated 220k

The sunday game on delay Roosters Souths rated 174k into Brisbane.

the Sydney games still rate pretty well in Brisbane..
Which is why I do not understand why the constantly put broncos on Friday Night..

drives me crazy...!!!

Sure do, on Saturday night. But there's no NRL game on FTA to compare it to. Still doesnt discount my original claim that the AFL's ANZAC day game is the highest rating home and away game for either code by quite some margin

Every game the Broncos played on FN they rated well over 200k. Just about every game not involving the broncos rated below 200, some near 150k. There is a reason the Broncos play every FN and its only ratings

Yes Your Anzac day game rates High its a Good number.. (AFL)

But a lot of NRL games of FTA rate between 1.0 -1.3 Mill
Which is Excellent..

AFL can not get this.. besides the Anzac Day game

But Yes Your Top AFL Game on Anzac Day is the highest rating game of the year in normal rounds...

How can it be when I just showed a normal round of FNF is not that far behind already?

You also have to factor in another thing with anzac day games, over the years 7 and 10 and 9 have played this game live nation wide on FTA TV, the NRL is only just getting the anzac day game on FTA last season, I'm not sure if it's a done thing to show it every year now I hope so, but knowing 9, they'll do what suits them even if it's not for the best.

I have seen the anzac day game rate 1.2 million as I said, it doesn't rate 1.7 1.8 each year.

Yes I know they rate over 200k every time..

but when you consider you can get two Sydney teams playing and only 50k viewers lower sometimes
its still very good...

Channel 9 don't have to always play them on Friday Night..
They can save them for sunday for example.. and still have a high rating program at the same time.

This will change in the next Tv Rights..

wrong again.

Essendon’s Round 7 blockbuster against Geelong at Etihad Stadium on Friday night was the most-watched Friday night game since the current ratings system began in 2001 with a total audience of 1.545 million viewers on free to air and subscription television - See more at: http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/2013- ... wl8vj.dpuf

well show the numbers then!

I said they rated 1.6-1.7, not up to 1.8m. They do this every year
