So, Raiderdave, are you suggesting that News Limited wasn't telling the truth when they reported that South Sydney had won the 2014 NRL premiership?
It is true that the NRL crowd average has dropped over the last two years. But since 2005 it has remained at it's highest ever echelon above 15,000. It can improve further, and I'm predicting it will.

it doesnt mater if you only use Home and Away or include the finals, the NRL average is down on where it was in 2012, total crowds and the total average are up on 2013 on the back of a strong finals series, but still below the 2012 level.
Total H&A - 3153142 (2012), 3060531 (2013), 3053743 (2014)
Home and Away - 16423 (2012), 15940 (2013), 15905 (2014)
Total crowds - 3486494 (2012), 3345248 (2013), 3376409 (2014)
Toal average - 17346 (2012), 16643 (2013), 16798 (2014)
oh but it does matter
anyway you look at it
the overall NRL average was up last season

and yet they are added to the H&A average on every site that does crowds to give the overall average
so once again
the NRL average was up in 2014

The NRL needs some of these teams with the low support to go back into the pack for a while and stay there, for years now it seems the teams with the lowest support have all been up there continually outside the Dogs I'd say, and it's even affecting them in a way now because they don't get the big crowds they should because their actual rivals are all down in the doldrums and have been for a while in some cases.
Swings and roundabouts.

You keep telling yourself that, and the rest of us will know that your crowds are for shit either way. Seriously, the way NRL and soccer types argue over crowds here is kind of amusing.

The NRL was up on last year wookie...............................dumbo was trying to make a point that NRL was down on last year which is incorrect as per Raider.....
2013 NRL ave including finals 16643
2014 NRL ave including finals 16798
Now if we are to use dumbos method wookie we could say that the AFL also is down...
2010 AFL ave including finals 38423
2011 AFL ave including finals 36428
2012 AFL ave including finals 32748
2013 AFL ave including finals 33461
