I actually rank Souths as the 4th biggest NRL club in Sydney & nationally for support

Parramatta are arguably the biggest although the Bulldogs may have something to say about that
the Dragons hold down 3rd
the Tigers are 5th a little off the pace of the top 4
the Roosters come in 6th but are a long way behind the top 4
Manly 7th
Penrith 8th
& the Sharks are the smallest of the Sydney based NRL clubs

Hmm from 2007 through to the 2014 season (eight seasons) Parramatta only beat Souths twice. We should also note that the Bunnies had zero in 2000 and 2001 for obvious reasons.

Those records also only go back to 1957. I'm sure the overall average going further back will have Souths in front. They are only behind by 642 at present.

I am so glad Sydney is a Rugby League city. Sydney has always liked entertainment more extreme than Melbourne.

All that money and members yet still nobody really cares about AFL here, with their poor tv ratings and all the talk about Souths and Bulldogs instead. The two NRL teams that were in the final are what really mattered here.

If you mean the Giants I would agree. Not the Swans though. Sydney does care about them and there was much interest in the lead up to the AFL Grand Final. Not much afterwards though and for a very good reason after a poor performance.

Actually I read the Telegraph daily mate and the fact is there are always 5 pages on NRL and a tiny section behind adds on AFL in their sports section in season.

You see is only the soft as butter boys like you that watch AFL in Sydney which is a small minority when it comes to media viewership

I know you like to think Sydney is crazy for AFL, but the fact is it could'nt be further from the truth.
You would be hard pressed to see one Swans car sticker in traffic to the hundreds of Bulldogs and Souths ones. You lot are nothing when it comes to major sporting culture in Sydney

Bad example. The Sydney papers will make more room for numbers. 9 clubs versus 2 clubs will always be a win for the NRL. Same in Melbourne the other way 9 clubs versus 1 club.

But the Sydney papers don't ignore the Swans or the Giants completely. Likewise the Melbourne papers with the Storm.

RL is the major code in Sydney, ffs is has 8 or in Sydney so of course there will be more new about the Sydney based NRL sides compared to the Swans.
