AFL does not have a first grade club in France, but Rugby League does

AFL is popular from one side of the country to the other. It has teams in every state except Tasmania. Your crack at Canberra is therefore irrelevant. Of course it's popularity levels in New South Wales and Queensland are beaten out by rugby league, but that doesn't automatically mean it's not popular in those states. It's the same with rugby league - except their presence is limited to the eastern states. For now anyway. They'll have teams in Adelaide and Perth soon enough.
