League 90 million

its more of a case you have NFI :thumbleft:

calling them invisible people is a bit of a stretch, particularly as one of the NRLs key strengths is regional people who won't buy memberships or go to games due to distance, but they WILL watch on TV.
perhaps so, but for supposed such large TV numbers, pretty much equal to the AFL, the NRl are coming easily last in other forms of revenue, the figure would look worse if it did not have its flagship events of SOO & Four Nations.

With increased ticket prices for finals and origin in particular, the figures should be a fair bit higher this year
the GF ticket prices were increased in 2013, not sure if they were again for the 2014 GF
pretty soon SOO will be 1/3 of the non broadcast revenue of the NRL, no wonder why they put so much in to it.
both of the codes would have to be releasing their annual reports sometime soon

spazza

explain these figures then
AFL 267 million
Union 104 million
Soccer 96 million
League 90 million :-k
included in those figures are the revenue from the NRL rep, SOO, Four Nations & what ever other little tournament they run!
AFL figures consist of a preseason consisting of a heap of practice matches, a H&A season with finals & the odd international rules series against the irish :-k

yet there is such a large gap in revenue :-k

FFS the soccer & union are ahead & they have nowhere near the broadcast deal the NRL has :-k
:)))

The fact that you and parra cant fathom the idea we might talk about something besides tv money speaks volumes for your capacity to understand things yourself.
I would talk about it .but the idiot keeps posting about invisible people .how can you have an intelligent conversation with someone who is brain Dead?

I know RL is behind in NON broadcast revenue.
Simply because of the way RL has been run .
Old boys club mentality at clubs .a Lawyer in charge for about a decade.
We have never had the smart business people running our game ,until now .
The ARLC firstly concentrated on getting $$$$$ for the game after DG undersold it.we were run on the smell of an oily rag..getting $$$$ in the bank was vitally important
They now have a strategic plan for boosting non revenue $$$$.
It is not an overnight fix .but memberships are growing each yr.
I am willing to give them 5 yrs to see where they are at.

Total Projected ARLC revenue over the 5 year period of this present media rights deal is 2 billion dollars
Thats 400 million a year
To achieve this figure the ARLC will need to be well above 400 mill by 2017
With non broadcast revenues of between 175 & 200 million a year

If 2 of those comps are getting that money over the NRL, why the fuck are they going broke like the aru or living from hand to mouth like the a league selling off real estate?

You lot are a couple of pair of morons.

One thing that Football has that Rugby League had is the huge grassroots program. We in football pay a lot of money into the state and national bodies. When you have close to 500,000 people playing outdoor football that is a lot of revenue generated. As I have said the fact that rugby league has such low participation affects revenue.

Well RL in this country doesnt levy its participants to pay its bills like sooker does
A friend of mine was complaining how expensive suggah is to register his kid in & was told a fair % goes to the pauper FFA ... i mean how fucking pathetic

I see yawnion is implementing the same scheme next year
Both sports cashed strapped & robbing the kids [-(

but this bloke had no choice as his son is a weedy little shirt lifter who cant play a real sport so he has to pay that much.

When i was playing RL it was $35 for 1 year, Soccer about 4x that amount - Gallop is actively looking at ways to sort it out. With no professional avenue up until 2005 the State administrators were reaping the profits and exploiting it quite a fair bit, even giving very little money to Soccer Australia at the time. Recently the split from it has been more even between State federations and the FFA of which naturally, the federations don't like hence why they lift the fees even more. There are a lot of issues that Gallop needs to sort out from top to bottom - some he has already fixed, but this is definitely one he needs to focus on above all else.

But - high fees still isn't stopping anyone from signing up which shows the strength of our game at grass roots.

There's clearly a problem in RL if the fees are as low as they are and participation is still dropping. General interest superseding economics as usual if more parents than ever are willing to pay our high fees to play our sport over junior RL.
