This thread is a good example of why TFC is irrelevant.
If you follow cricket you would have to be worried about crowd trends - fact.
It's a sign of panic when you have to resort to ratings as a retort.
It's also living in la la land to cherry pick attendance figures that aren't fantastic anyway and don't reflect soccer
outside of the big two cities.
It's also living in la la land to compare oranges with apples or even apricots,
that is to compare a football code to a stick sport or to make comparisons in different seasons.
It is a demonstrated fact that when we have a fair winter attendances rise for the football codes and vice versa.
If the GAA started up a summer league here in Australia you'd get handy attendances if played under lights on a barmy night.
Nice try Cos.

Oh my .

Sokka moved from winter to summer ,thus avoiding the 2 big winter sports .
Sokka fans scream how it is taking over ,RL is dying BLAH blah ,while sokka has no rival ,no competition .
Cricket comes along & obliterates Sokka .

So comparison is fair ..especially when fans big note how popular it is .

At least the winter sports go head to head .

& when did you open a fruit business . :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>

Let me guess, the only dying code or the code filled with evil lying manipulating people is Rugby League?

A League playing in Summer has a number of advantages, the biggest being that it puts us in the same phase as Europe. Hard for you Rugby League boys to understand but we are a world game, our players move around the world. So putting us in the same cycle means that bringing in or trading players occurs at the "right time" ie the main transfer window occurs before and just as our season is starting, and the January Transfer window which is the smaller one occurs just like Europe during the halfway point.

The other advantage, and one touched on previously, we have such huge numbers playing grassroots as well as NPL, that playing over summer allows the possibility of those people watching the games
Football in NSW
- Football 200,868
- AFL NSW/ACT 28,468
- Rugby League 96,041
- Rugby Union 40,685
Football has 22% more players than the other football codes combined

the facts are your greasy little wankerball couldn't cut it when up against real sports in winter in Australia
& can barely get a raised eye brow in summer either when Cricket gets into full swing

I love that last bit of logic .
About playing in summer will give all those participants( yes it is large) a chance to watch ..

Lol the TV ratings say not many give a fuck at all .

That statement is one of the big fallacies about sokka .
For yrs it has had huge participation numbers at Junior level ,& the mongs repeatedly claim that this will transfer into crowds & viewers .
Lol hasn't happened yet ,but who am I to wreck the fantasies of the hooligans .

the A league has larger TV and ground attendance than the NSL ever did, and it continues to grow, so it is transferring into crowds and viewers

But hey don't want to burst your bubble, after all it looks like another NRL player is about to be front page news for all the wrong reasons

Hmmm, why are French and other European RL playing nations playing now and not lined up with Australia's NRL postapocalypse?

Same logic as your sokka out here huh?
