2) The topic is about a singular nrl player and what he did
3) A sport played by 250 million people and watched by a billion are going to have troubled people playing. We do have people that have committed crimes serious ones as well.

The point is, why does such a small game like NRL have such a high proportion of troubled people involved, their seems to be a propensity of violence off the field, NRL has what 500 players or so, yet time and time again we hear violent incidence from these players off the field. out of 250 million you have 50?

The thing is there's far more soccer players out there then foowtie players, just look at the number of teams and divisions in Europe. If you had the same percentage of meatheads in soccer per head then every month would be Jake the Muss impersonation month, with multiple girlfriend bashings, night club assaults on women, you name it. Hell we'd even need a 'women in Soccer round' just to clean our image

As far as soccer players go, EPL and France seem to produce more douchebags then the other continents do - John Terry, Joey Barton etc

I do find it rather interesting that KE_liar highlighted Joey Barton, yep he has had a troubled life, but his involvement in a number of charities off field and his support of gay rights is very interesting. If I remember correctly he took a lot of flak for his position on gay rights, wasn't he involved in helping get the stonewall charity program into the EPL, the whole 'rainbow' laces

Didn't know about that for Joey Barton. Sounds like he's matured in his age and is hopefully making a concerted effort to walk the right path.
