No, I have no respect for people who neglect their family.

Sport is sport, family is special.

Arsehole.

The question is...will the sookeroos plummet further in the rankings?

I say, yes! :D

why? well if you gotta sport that's consistently beat by womens cricket, then it aint really got much chance  Atleast the women acknowledge they need more support to crack the bigtime, which is a helluva lot better than what these sooker fans are doin [-X

Sydney FC, any truth to the rumor that it was Graham Arnold driving the car that hit Antonis, so he could stay and play for you guys?

Looking forward to the game against Japan, both of us haven't been playing well so it will be a good test (have the Japanese got their European based players in?)

Take it to private messages or snapchat lovebirds. This is the fightclub so either stand up and take ur punishment or pissorrrfff and share images of ur nipples with eachother on snapchat.

So, ahhh ahem, with that out of the way lets get back on topic shall we. Anyone else think the soccerroos will plummet more in the world rankings? Any other ideas apart from the obvious lack of national interest as to why we have always had a dearth of quality in the game.

KE, you seem to be rather obsessed with guys nipples and sharing images with other blokes, are you looking to pick up up on this board KE? Look sexuality is no big deal for me, but I really don't think this is the place for you to be doing that, if you want to look at guys nipples I am certain you could find somewhere else.

The comment to SFC was in fact relevant to the socceroos you idiot, as Antonis was picked to play but was rules out injured, I know it is hard for you to understand that internationally we come up against more than 3 countries. As for the rankings, no one is really worried becuase they don't mean a hell of a lot, we went to the last world cup, therefore another world ranking puts us in the top 32. There are plenty of 'teams' that are ahead of Australia that we have never played and therefore we couldn't measure ourselves directly.

So long as we continue to qualify for the major tournaments (Asian Cup, World Cup I don't mind where we are. The fact that we continue to play "big teams" in friendlies will limit our ability to move up the rankings. But clearly these other teams don't see Australia as number 94, hence why we play Japan (bets in Asia), Germany (best in the world) Netherlands, Brazil, France.

I know you don't have the brain cells to understand how the rankings work so I won't bother, I expect you will have trouble reading such a long poost, question do your lips move when you read stop signs?

Now don't you guys have tonga or samoa to play? or something? The best you can hope for I guess, football has proper internationals to play, so run along the adults are talking.

In alls my time posting thousands of posts, I've used the word nipples once on this forum. And once only.

For the members, no actually the members know this like all normal humans. No for the benefit of postlabotomy here is the accepted English language definition of obsessed. Commonly learnt by schoolchildren by the age of 7 or 8.

obsess
verb
past tense: obsessed; past participle: obsessed

preoccupy or fill the mind of (someone) continually and to a troubling extent.

•be fixated, be preoccupied, be infatuated, be possessed, be haunted, be consumed, be plagued, be tormented, be bedevilled, be eaten up, be gripped, be in the grip of, be dominated, be beset;
informalbe hung up about/on, have a thing about, have something/someone on the brain, have a bee in one's bonnet;

be constantly talking or worrying about something.
"her husband, who is obsessing about the wrong she has done him"

 Like shooting fish in a barrel here. Like sitting ducks.

Comon posthoc, pickup yer game dude. Maybe you been snapchattin and selfying too much and its rottin yer brain some? sydfc? You too.

posting shirtless men as well, appearing to want to straddle me, all indicators to something rather troubling. You do seem to have an obsession with nipples

Yeah the same game that puts RL participation rates to absolute shame, and despite all the small fish to choose from the centre of da Rugby Loigue world is State of Origin, a competition where the same two teams play over and over again and NSW might come out on top once every 8-9 years :(/ :(/ . The sheer number of players and competition in Australian soccer, frm youth level onwards, means eventually cutting it for the Socceroos squad is now much, much harder than getting into the Kangaroos squad. :D

I encourage all RL rednecks to read more about international soccer to give us crap, because it's a free geography lesson for you guys. It will open your eyes to how many countries there are in fact out there in the world! :thumbleft:

So if Socceroos are drop a few places in international rankings are we going to see a massive drop off in fan popularity fresh off the WC. Me thinks not

It's "safe for the children" That's why there's lots of participators. And even then, we are still abbbbssssooooolutely shiiiiiithouse at the game. What's wrong with us? Why?

To me its a cultural thing. When you've got kiddies forced into participating in something while they prefer and watch something completely different and, lets be honest, more manly and generally better for one's mental development - i.e. take a moment to envisage your male soccer player rolling round on the ground like a prepubescent 6 year old who's crying for attention because a kitten scratched him

So yeah when your playing without interest and the rest of the nation is the same I guess you're just not gunna put the effort in to develop any level of skill or competence. Cue Australian soccer

How much lower can they go?

I reckon by mid next year another 30places down is well within our boys reach!

I guess if the parent wants the child to grow up and beat on their girlfriend or wife, or maybe get a jobbie from a dog, or public shame in a male bathroom, then Rugby League would be a good move for them, but most parents I know want their kids to grow up and be normal functioning members of society, I suspect that is why more people play football than rugby league.

No, that's kinda not it at all. Most people do not have the physical, athletic and mental aptitude to perform in RL. In fact, most get fairly pummelled if they are not strong nor athletic enough.

Sooker? Well if you can kick a ball and roll around on the ground like a 6 year old crying who just doesn't care then...you'll look the part.

It's a game for young boys who have not filled out physically nor mentally. And there's lots of them around so its good for sookers participation rates. The drop off in sooker participation at 15 or so, when males generally begin to fill out physically and mentally, is quite phenomenal.

Comprehende?

Right, so a game that requires much more awareness, intelligence and dexterity then RL will be abandoned in favour of RL by hundreds of thousands of kids around the nation. Right, yes, keep believing that.......

Pretty sure soccer still beats RL in participation above 15 years of age, as would a whole host of other sports for that matter. Historically there was some drop off because teenagers always dream of making it big where the crowds are, but now that soccer is on the ascendancy, and offers some of the best crowds and atmosphere in Australian sport, not to mention the most competitive international competition, so just watch what happens. =D>

so in your theory you would expect a rise in participation rates in rugby league for 15 yr olds? But you don't see that at all LOL, sorry KE_liar looks like you been telling fibs again.

Now I wanted to do some research on this issue before I posted it, so I went to the ABS to look at some stats, I found what looked like a really good data set, "participation in sport and physical recreation" the newest I could find was 2011-12, so not too bad I guess.

Went to table 7 which was age breakdown of sport participation. AFL was there as was Football (both indoor and outdoor) but no Rugby League, I thought how can that be surely the ABS would count them, then I looked closer the figure was only the top 25 Activities by Age.

So we have AFL, two types of football (indoor and outdoor), cricket, Ballet, Golf, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Squash, Tennis, but no Rugby League, didn't even make it into the top 25 participation sports in the country, so very sorry but your sport rates so badly that I can not check the participation figures.

It is in the top 55, but they only break that down on male v female but for your interest the figure is 104,100 people playing in Australia, less than play Hockey, and basically the same number of people that play Volleyball.

More people play futsal ie our mini indoor version than play Rugby League
