With the Origin series already decided, it was asking a bit to much to expect origin 3 ratings to be in the same league as the first 2. Gutsy call Dave but not the smart choice.
I never said it would match the ratings of the first 2 games

I said would it beat the derps & misses GF from last year
it wasn't that far off
now
will this years fumbles & bumbles GF beat the 3rd origin
will 2 big NRL clubs play in the NRL decider this year & beat it as well
time will tell

now the SOO is over for this year, what happens to all of the bandwagon fans?
they drop off rather fast
13k bothered showing u to friday night NRL game
and it got thumped in the ratings by the AFL
SOO is nothing but a State vs State marketing gimmick,
the bandwagon fans dropped off just as fast as dave pissed his pants on the bus

Must be sad to follow a sport that gets smashed yr after yr ,by a Gimmick.
Tell me dumbo why does a so called "Gimmick" bother you mongs so much.
If it was as insignificant as you mob make out then surely you would ignore it.
YET.
All we get is Thread after thread of frothing & foaming...lies .deflection & insularity.
Keep up the good work dumbo.
Its better comedy than the comedy channel.

what happens fucktard

well
1 Million watched this Friday night game nationally on just the one form of coverage
the same amount that were watching most games before origin &
about as many that watch most Friday night derps & fumbles games on two forms of coverage
13K odd attended at Brookvale
above the average for these 2 sides on a Friday night at that small & very difficult venue to get to on a Friday night.
I'd say things are as normal as ever
fans disappearing after origin ?
nope
same support level is there & it will spike in the coming weeks to Im predicting the highest average attendance & aggregate total in the 106 year history of the NSWRL/ARL/NRL history
now if you are suggesting we don't maintain the levels of interest that origin does

>
well
of course we don't you dribbling metho swilling fucktard

nothing does
including that bumbling little abortion from down south
seriously dickhead ... lay off the metho &
have a think about it

just on the topic of ratings, it seems to me that ratings (for both AFL/NRL) will probably fall or stay constant in the near future as people start watching it via streaming. although i guess population increase would offset that somewhat
personally, i rarely watch games on TV unless im at the pub/a mates and just watch on the computer and phone via nrl digital pass.
dunno whats doing in AFL, but the NRL made a pretty massive push for the digital pass thing, $2 a week, this year and i imagine there was quite decent uptake.
food for thought.

Good post. I've been using my IPad to watch a lot of games recently.

Agree PHy although I have been saying the same thing for months - IMO these are the last of the really big tv rights deals coming up - other forms of viewing will take over!
