the articles i posted was from 2009 up until 7 july 2014. covering a number of years to show a continued pattern, of what was being reported about the cronulla gummy sharks being broke with no money. it wasn't hard to find those articles as all where from the first page that showed up on google.

essendons debt comes from spending 30 odd million on a new training facility, fines & bills from lawyers, the club will easily recover the money & is hardly reliant on poker machine, re unlike every NRL club just for survival to break even on the whole pissy amount required to run an NRL club.

why would a club spend millions on its own money on lawyers & take it to the federal court against the AFL & ASADA if they believe they don't have a case to answer

then you have cronulla who have said they will not fight the charge as they do not have the money!. they dont even have the money to pay the fine the NRL commission game them
