Buddy's goals were impressive yest. I saw em live at the ground. But Rugby league players have kicked goals from more than 50metres out, drop goals under pressure that is. A fair bit more harder and requiring more skill than buddy booting it thru yest without needing to get it over a cross bar and not needing to allow the ball to bounce off the ground first

Yeah my self imposed ban is over - and agree to a point about Buddy's goal but the games are different after all a RL player just would be kicking it from that distance or angle in a match so it really is comparing apples with oranges.

Except he kicked one from the boundary from 70m, on the run and under pressure from an opposition on his tail. Sorry, NOTHING in rugby compares to this skill

Your sport has NO crossbar to get over,the ball can dribble along the ground.
No comparison to other sports.
Skill is getting the ball over or under the crossbar.,& not having 2 unco sticks beside the 2 giant sticks.

The goal he kicked from the other boundary line, from 50mtrs, on the run, and weaving between two players would have sailed over a cross bar.

There's no more skill in kicking over a cross bar than kicking over defenders standing on the goal line who can jump and contact a ball 12ft in the air.

Weaving around players and kicking is situational. Unpredictable situational events occur in both sports, making a certain skill harder to execute. So we cannot have our lil tugs over buddy's goal and claim it's so more awesome and skillful than anything in league. No we can't, we'd sound silly if we did that.

So we must look at the essential skill being performed. The 'kick'. Happens in both codes in situations where one needs considerable skill to perform the task. But essentially the drop kick for goal is a harder version of the skill to perform. Thus a drop kick from 50 in a game situation is harder to perform than a drop punt.

A drop kick his hard to execute I'll give you that, however they're quite rare in rugby aren't they? Got any highlights of rugby players kicking drop kick goals from 50mtrs out near the sideline? And by that I mean ANY. Buddy has a highlight real of freak bomb goals that would go for hours.

So we are in agreement then. The skill required for the drop goal is more difficult. I'm not bothered by how rare it is. It's not a big part of the game, if it were there'd be a highlight reel with players kicking them from all over the park. No I'm only interested in the facts of the matter and that is that rl players show more skills than ur simple drop punt as was shown in the op vid

Sorry when was the last occasion that any RL player kicked from 70 meters or 60 meters or event 50 meters out from goal???? Your field after all is only a 100 meters long - that would be kicking from half way. Like I said your comparing apples with oranges - The further out from goal the greater the deviation from the smallest of angles - if you can't appreciate the skill then I feel sorry for you!

Lookup drop goals or field goals on YouTube, you'll see plenty of long distance and amazing field goals. Most rl halfbacks can also perform the drop punt with similar if not more distance than buddy.

How do you measure that when a RL field is only 100 meters long even if they go for a 20 m line punt their not going to be kicking from 70 out are they - as for drop goals well as I said it's apples and oranges - I don't compare because it's not comparable - but to say one is easier than the other well I don't agree!
