hmmmmmmmmmmm
This practice of advancing the clocks ahead an hour in the spring and adjusting them back an hour in the fall is called daylight saving time.
But because daylight savings time is used so frequently, the term is also considered acceptable.

Nonetheless, “
daylight savings time” is still commonly used, especially in countries such as Australia, Canada and the United States. It is likely that the incorrect term “savings” entered the popular vocabulary because it is so often used in everyday contexts, such as “savings account

I can answer that one, Raider! When I was living in Canberra the Kate Carnell government made a big fuss over the money spent on improving the surface at Ainslie. It was great to run on (I know - I ran on it as an umpire). I don't know when Tuggeranong's ground was built at Greenway, but it was sensational both to watch games from and run on.
I just had a look at the ACT government website and I couldn't find any debate on it, indicating that it was likely that none was needed presumably.
Naturally I don't know how they compare to the thugby venues at the local level. Never went looking for them and didn't care.

Greenway is also used for Rugby League
as is the new facility at Gungahlin & it is magnificent too having been there to watch a few games a few weeks ago.

You're trying to put words into my mouth that I never uttered. I wasn't talking about diversions because you were insinuating that the ACT government doesn't put any money into footy venues at ALL!
Now I don't know about Gungahlin because that's more recent (I left Canberra in 1999), but they would have had to have done some incredible work at Greenway to outdo the football ground facilities! Maybe next time I'm in Canberra I'll go look at both and see if YOU are telling the truth!

That is a very leading question that does not reflect what I actually said, Raiderdave. You are stating that no money at all has been put into AFL venues by the ACT government, and that is simply not true given the examples TLPG gave. I acknowledge the work at Gungahlin, but you were saying that no money was going into AFL venues at all.
