panthers leagues grew larger and then the ARL started a salary cap. with a salary cap its even less panthers can put into the penrith team.
then the ARL (then NRL) got larger and larger tv deals which parts of that is given to tams like penrith each year to run thre club. panthers didnt need to fund the club very much at all and panthers turned into an entertainment/gambleing business which is still connected to the penrith panthers club.
when ever penrith want more money it is given to them by panthers group. now due to salary cap there is a limit to how much they can pay players etc so the panthers leagues club pays for player facilities, the stadium which the club owns etc... now if the NRL suddenly abolished the salary cap panthers could and would throw as much money as they wanted into penrith, and penrith panthers as well as collingwood and brisbane broncos would be the biggest clubs
If panthers wasnt with penrith then why does panthers pay for stadium upgrades etc? and why does panthers still gives millions a year to penrith??

The Daily Telegraph article - while essentially correct - simply demonstrates a club that at the time was trying to exist beyond it's means. Panthers Entertainment knew how bad it was going because saving the club (which they could have done) would cost at least two of their 14 venues in my opinion. Good for James Packer and good for Phil Gould in particular. Phil has always been a voice of reason. He has seen the threat GWS poses and he knows that it will take money to fight back. yes it is a AFL forum, but the page is maintained by wooke & those figures are straight from the AFL clubs annual reports from 2013Cracker wrote:There's no need for that sort of abuse, 214Four. This is how you do it.

yeah any idiot can get in to debt, they where only saved by a guilds mate packer. he used with his daddys money. they still carry millions of debt, they are looking to sell off. with out packer they wouldn't exist todayCracker wrote:Let's leave the "brand" out of the equation, because it belongs to Panthers Entertainment. The club was in trouble because it was existing beyond it's means. All it needed was someone to pay off the debt and nothing more. I would suggest that you don't oversell it.
