Yet you have no figures to suggest it is any more one sided than the NRL.

Thats my last comment on the topic. Unless others show interest in discussing this topic over the next few days I'm going to lock it like all the others
I will take notice of the betting markets..

& there are far far juicier odds on offer each week for AFL games than NRL games..
The betting markets reflect the fact the AFL is a higher scoring game which tends to result in less upsets

That's the way you look at it .
I see the fact that the bookies know that there are few chances of an upset & plenty of no hoper teams in the AFL.
More upsets in the NRL...tighter betting market ,more even comp.

The NRL will always have more upsets given scores are so low. The AFL is more even this year than any of the previous few years and will continue to even out as the suns and giants players mature.

Xman your higher scoring argument is so weak man

Another one is the tipping comp percentages. Though there are more games in the AFL the tipping % of tipsters is significantly higher in the AFL comp ;)

Lopsided to billio folks.

Lock it up Xman, like all the other threads you can't hack it in ;)

its not lopsided, it's higher scoring so more predictable. They aren't the same thing.

Soccer is similar, so low scoring that a single goal can decide a game. One team can dominate play yet fail to score because of the difficulty, while the other team scores from their only shot. This will always be more unpredictable.

Fact is the AFL are apparently very concerned about the lack of equity / lopsided nature of the AFL.

Sorry Xman it's true. And it was only 2012 when several highly influential AFL folk showed their concern for how lopsided the convo was. In fact it was recorded as the most lopsided year in the history of the comp.

Stop chewin dem sour grapes and face it Xman, the comp is lopsided-to billio

They're not overly concerned about lopsided performances because they know they are evening out. They're concerned about the gap between wealthy clubs and those of limited means. This is hardly an unusual problem, the NFL are also attempting to address this issue. It's the AFLs top priority at the moment and rightly so. All clubs are on board and I have no doubt solutions will be employed in the coming years to address it

More COLAs to non heartland teams ..even GF winners.
Maybe Tanking will be back in vogue (not much use now as all the good skinny kiddies are given to GWS & GC).

No matter what they do it will be a compromised comp.
& that is what makes it such a joke.

No. We are talking about football department spending, not salary cap.

Also, you're not suggesting the NRL isn't compromised are you?

Fairish points re the AFL probs similar to the NFL there Xman but fact is the AFL would be concerned about the lopsidedness of the comp. I would be too cos it's lopsided to billio! Admit it  this thread of cos's was like running in an open paddock full of bulls, blindfolded, butt naked, parading a massive red flag.

Of course the AFL is concerned about the unevenness of the competition.
That's why the AFL are undertaking equalisation measures after studying various models.
Independent of this, is the fact that there has been a great improvement in the position of the clubs generally found in the bottom half of the ladder.

With equalisation measures, the natural growth of the two expansion teams, Adelaide Oval, Tasmania, Ballarat, games in NZ and elswhere I see the situation improving further.

I would be lot more concerned about the future of some nrl clubs.

Bravo cos! Bravo! You've just proven the title of your very own thread to be the most exquisite and enticing form of satirical comedy I've read in ages!!

=D> jolly fukkin good cos! Bravo ol chap!! =D> :_<>

And the way you set ur AFL comrades up for an absolute hammering in this thread was seriously something to behold. A masterful stroke of evil genius! =D> :(/

The best bit? When Xman got a sniff of how bad things were going and threatened to lock the thread up to save face for himself and peers alike, but his mental capacity to foresee what was happening let him down and, after scratching his head and not receiving the perpetually paranoid/fearful tlpgs blessing to lock the thread he left the thread open for this classic double crossing post of cos's above.

Hitchcocks got nuttin on you ol cos me boy  you certainly know how to set the perfect crime scene!

Jolly good show!! Again bravo ol cos lettuce!!! =D>

Again, it never ceases to amaze me at what amuses rl types.
The AFL has seen a definite improvement in the relative positions of clubs and is working on further improvement - and you guys laugh.

You seem to be laughing at your downfall. Will you still be laughing then.

IMO the current and future of AFL clubs is good whilst the future for some nrl clubs is bleak.
Simple as.

cue rl types laughing at their demise.
