27K in March isn't too bad although it should have been over 30K at least. However maybe some Roosters fans stayed away having an inkling that Inglis was going to have a blinder.

Let's see what the crowd's like tonight at ANZ when my Bulldogs take on the Broncos. We are going in as favourites, but never underestimate Brisbane.
Cracker - my crack was really aimed at RD insisting that the Swans are on the decline in Sydney - Sydney is really a different culture about going to games than Melb. He often applies different standards to NRL than he applies to AFL - that's what annoys me.

Last years opener was at Moore Park ... right in the heart of both teams territories
Homebush is 25K's to the west of there

You want to try this one again Dave??? 27k :_<>
OMG - how could he be that far off - Thursday night - NO opposition - start of season - Premiership re-match. Have to be seen as a dismal failure last night!
not as far off as Bearsy's laughable effort in 2012 for the very first battle of the boggers   :(/ :(/ :(/ :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>

80,000 predicted
38,000 turning up :(/ :(/ :_<> :_<>

but the dickhead hasn't learnt a thing
he tipped next weeks game at the far smaller Sydney Showground ... would sellout also :\: :\: :\: :\: :\: :\:

well with big Booby Flasher playin his first comp game
Sydneysiders will rush to get their seats

apparently................. NOT :_<> :_<> :_<>

last Nights NRL game will still be the most watched for the week in Sydney by a mile with over 600K at the ground or watching on TV
the big Q is wether the VFL's Sydney derby can muster more veiwers then the A Leagues
I think the Soccer boys will win even with no coverage of their game on FTA .... how fucking embarrassing folks

as for last night

Thursday nights stink
Sydneysiders hate them for going to sport
there'll be no more of them in the NRL in Sydney in 2015 as a result.
end of
36k down to 27k two of the BIGGEST clubs in the comp = decline! Can't have it both ways RD you kept telling us last year Swans v Giants 50k in 2012 down to 27k in 2014 = decline :D

Same applies for NRL!!!!!

So much for more members! :_<> :_<> :_<>

the Roosters are one of the biggest clubs in the NRL are they ? 8-[

oh goodness
our resident know nothing cock.... gets it wrong again :(/ :(/

Chooks wouldn't make the top 5
Arguable about whos actually the Biggest NRL club among the Sydney teams but here are my thoughts

1) Parramatta
2) St George Illawarra
3) Bulldogs
4) South Sydney
5) Wests Tigers
6) Roosters
7) Manly
8) Penrith
9) Cronulla

All in all a pretty poor start for poor Smith, especially after his claims RL would be number one in Australia within 4 years

818K all up in the metros
550K in the regionals
a tidy 1.368 Million on a Thursday night

pointless comment cos the same could be said for the code you watch.
How so when crowds for ARs are over double the NRL?
ahhhhhhh

Victoria is populated by ********* who have no lives & live in probably the dullest city on earth
Sydneysiders love their NRL
it does not consume their existence like their weirdo sthn cousins though

Which it will drift towards later in the year. The traditional AFL opener is Carlton v Richmond. Again two decent sides in a blockbuster. The crowd is usually 60-80k
usually, but for the first time in years, they arn't playing each other in the season opener. its Collingwood vs freo at etihad, but still will easily out draw the bumsniffers game
but more Australians STILL will watch the NRL opener
as per usual eh cockhead

thats why tv ratings & crowds are declining all the time in NSW.
VIC, SA, WA, QLD all get good crowds to their games, AFL ,NRL, A League.
such poor crowds to NRL games in NSW

AFL >>> NRL

At least two teams in the five major population centres, compared to at least two teams in two major population centres.

So who's the one trick pony again, Dave?

And hey, is anyone willing to take that welcher on over the crowd tonight and tomorrow night?
