oh wow, that was private ownership!, if the owner of a business isn't making money, whats the point of owning it.

Yes blame News Ltd - not the shoddy admin, the shit crowds, the Sydney centric comp or the failure to think long term - it was RL decision to get in bed with News - Again answer my question what was in their future fund and what profit did they make in 2012? AFL has not released 2013 figures and in 2012 had 89 mil in their futures fund so again I wouldn't get too far ahead of yourself!

News chose League , Not AFL, to spearhead there pay TV network. It cost News Ltd half a billion dollars to gain ccontrol of rugby League in a very bitter hostile takeover that went on for years, and took place in the highest courts in the land.
News Ltd chose to take over league because it was the best product!
We were the Dominant code pre News Ltd just as we are post News Ltd.

What were you on the News board at the time? - didn't have anything to do with Packer wanting to control league just like he controlled cricket? C'mon be serious channel 9 had league and 7 had the AFL - pay TV began in 1995 - Superleague was war ended in 1998 - there has been several tv rights deals since then! How about you tell us we were in the Boar war because Queen Victoria liked Diamonds! News couldn't go after AFL because there was an independent commission AND they were already neck deep in debt with league - your just talking nonsense!

No they chose it because they were in a position to control it! Have you forgotten the Super League huh? They probably tried AFL first, but when they realised that they couldn't control it like they wanted to they bailed and went to an easier option!
Best product? Bullshit. They tried to improve it with Super league it was so bad, and look what that did!

the Austraian Rugby League sold the tv rights to 9 (Packer) in a contract no different to the one Stokes had with 7.
There has been several Tv contracts since News Ltd took over - they were all about news Ltd making more money for News Ltd.
the ARLC run our game now - maybe you've heard? they have just banked a $50m surplus

Yes obviously everything I said you agree with - can you now answer my other questions - what was in the NRL future fund and what profit did they make in 2012?

Where was the AFL Super League run by Stokes then, goose? Face facts - the two can not be compared because Stokes never held a position on the AFL Commission and neither did anyone working for him!!
Back to school with you......
