You're not suggesting that graph supports the RLWC are you? Two blips but absolutely smashed for interest overall. Have a look at the bar graph on the left hand side. Says it all.Raiderdave wrote:![]()

Firstly, the graph is searches I assume, not news stories, so the original data stands. Secondly, the graph supports the AFL draft as easily the most consistently searched topic.Raiderdave wrote:Xman wrote:You're not suggesting that graph supports the RLWC are you? I gather your searches were world wide? My news searches were from google.com.au, indicating interest in Australia. Given the AFL draft was about 4 times as popular I'd suggest the media in a Australia believe the AFL draft is far more newsworthypHyR3 wrote:also, "the original data still stands."
just rechecked what you posted.
when i search in google search NEWS:
rlwc = 16.3k hits
AFL draft = 23,200 hits
rugby league world cup = 1.24 MILLION hits.
google search news last 24hrs for me stops giving me the number of hits... maybe you can do it but search rugby league world cup, not rlwc.
thanks for playing, see ya later.
and your other point "You're not suggesting that graph supports the RLWC are you? Two blips but absolutely smashed for interest overall. Have a look at the bar graph on the left hand side. Says it all."
interest overall internationally records '5' for AFL draft, '5' for rugby league world cup, and 1 for rlwc. so 6 vs 5 for RLWC.
interest in australia is 12 vs 6 in your favour. except your event has happened 9 times since the beginning of the data. and twice for us. i would say having bigger peaks is more important since you have an inherent advantage for an event that happens every year in something that averages data from years where there is no RLWC.
I never said the AFL draft would produce more interest world wideAFLcrap1 wrote:But but but but but
But wouldn't the AFL draft be of interest Overseas ,seeing as (claimed by some handicapped posters on here),that it is a bigger game internationally.
BHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

I'm fine with it attracting far more interest in Australia than the RLWC
It certainly does, however I'm not surprised you can't understand it.Raiderdave wrote:Xman wrote:I never said the AFL draft would produce more interest world wideAFLcrap1 wrote:But but but but but

searching from .com.au, doesn't elimiate global hits to my knowledge. It just presents a different version of results which is more likely what you're searching for if you're in Australia.Xman wrote:I gather your searches were world wide? AFL draft and RLWC are only two terms. You've expanded RLWC but not included other options like AFL national draft.pHyR3 wrote:searching from .com.au, doesn't elimiate global hits to my knowledge. You can select only from australia, just as you can select only from last 24hours.
But for me, once I've selected that it stops showing how many results pop up.
Going by your figures, since AFL draft narrowly beats rlwc. Once you include rugby league world cup (a more common term for news articles and people searching it up) it will smash AFL draft.
