Dave is ignoring you, Xman.

No, he's not. He said the comments were racist, and he's entitled to that opinion. What I won't tolerate is repeated accusations of "youre a racist" and "youre a pedo". These personal attacks are out of line.NRLCrap1 wrote:Dave is ignoring you, Xman.
Again I never said that you did - I said that I wasn't interested in seeing Australian Islanders play against New Zealand islanders - and when asked to clarify I said it was a reflection of the competition - you are a moron - like I said any time you want to step into a ring let me know!Raiderdave wrote:Swans4ever wrote:I never said it detracts from the sport - I don't want to watch Australian Islanders competing against New Zealand Islanders in the WC (which is what I said).Raiderdave wrote:cos789 wrote:There is a big difference between referring to race and racial abuse.
People seem to lump "racist" remerks into "racial abuse" remartks.
Currently an Australian indiginous side is playing an IR series in Ireland.
That statement refers to race yet is in NO way offensive.
To say that there are a lot of "Islanders" in the nrl is just an observation.
Saying someone is a Nazi is saying that person holds an outlook similar to the Nazis
and that would be offensive to the great majority of people.
to say there are a lot of islanders in RL is an observation
to say this detracts from the sport
IS FUCKING RACIST .... you ****** !!
anyone spouting such offensive filth ... is a filthy fucking racist
end of !!
you said & I quote
you will not watch RL because it is full of islanders
insinuating their involvement detracts from that sport & lessens its appeal for you
a racially motivated comment
nothing could be clearer
this lame as piss suggestion that comments like this are ..... subjective ... are vomit inducing
this will be taken further .............
I don't care what you think , a benign comment along the lines of ... theres a disproportionate number of islanders playing RL is not offensiveXman wrote:I disagree. Its an observation that a large proportion of RL participants in Australia are represented by an ethnic group making up a very small proportion of our population. Swans explained his comment above and his explanation doesn't sound like "the only reason I won't watch RL is because there are so many islanders". You're stretching the truth. He qualified his comment above. As I see it he means he believes watching a game between Australia and NZ is of little interest if the Australian team is full of kiwis.Raiderdave wrote:Xman wrote:Can you find a quote where he said he wouldn't watch RL because its full of islanders?Raiderdave wrote:Swans4ever wrote:I never said it detracts from the sport - I don't want to watch Australian Islanders competing against New Zealand Islanders in the WC (which is what I said).Raiderdave wrote:cos789 wrote:There is a big difference between referring to race and racial abuse.

hes pretty much admitted what he said here above
adding the word ... Islanders ... to the end of Australian & New Zealand is proof definitive that he considers them to be his issue with watching RL & this up coming world cup
that is a racially motivated & comments like that don't belong on a public forum
If thats the case I tend to agree.NRLCrap1 wrote:Swans was having a go at the RLWC rules that allowed Islanders play for Australia or New Zealand when they should be playing for their home country (Fiji et al). I'm trying to find the original comment but it wasn't on the thread I thought it was.
he is clearly saying this in my opinion , not directly but it is heavily insinuated & that's all that is requiredXman wrote:Swans explained his comment above and his explanation doesn't sound like "the only reason I won't watch RL is because there are so many islanders". Its an interesting issue. I can see why Dave took offence because despite the fact they are islanders, if nationalised they are still Australians. However if the Australian team has a large proportion of Polynesians, far more than the proportion that actually live in Australia, I can understand why for some this doesn't really feel like a representation of our countries actual ethnic mix.NRLCrap1 wrote:
