Ummmm, what was the VFL game that was played in Cairns this weekend? Was it Werribee and Casey or Sandringham and Williamstown? Do tell us, Dave "Allen".

Would be pretty funny if they get the biggest crowd in Sydney this weekend. Especially considering the WS Derby between Eels and Panthers and the GF rematch between the Bulldogs and Storm.

:(/ :(/ :_<> :_<>

the only thing that will be funny is reasons as to why the only 2 bumbleball sides in a state of 7.5 Million people .. actually .. scrub that ...add the ACT too as apparently the orange slime are their side as well .. so its nearer 8 Million

playing a game against each other .. in the heart of our nations largest city , with one being the defending premiers
will not go close to selling out a capacity reduced SCG
or be watched by any more people on TV in this state .... then a brady bunch movie re run

:(/ :(/ :_<> :_<>

now
that's fucking hilarious   :(/ :(/ :(/

so in a city of nearly 8 million, 9k turn up to the wrugby
in a game up in the far north in a town of 150k get 11k to a game :?>
that's fucking hilarious   :(/ :(/ :(/

ahhhhh 8-[
that'd be a state/s you mongo dropkick... not a city :(/ :(/ :(/

oh &

we got 16K in that same city of 150K just a few weeks ago

Delicious.

Using my logic (bigger crowd = bigger crowd) you're correct. But you don't use my logic, you use your logic. Dave logic states that the only true measure of a crowd is the % of the ground that is filled.

Barlow Park capacity 18,000
nRL Crowd: 16,188
% of capacity: 89.93%

Cazaley's Stadium capacity: 12,000
AFL Crowd: 11,197
% of capacity: 93.31%

AFL > nRL in Cairns using ****** logic. You can either concede that this is the truth, or admit that your insane, clutching at straws argument regarding percentage of stadium filled is ridiculous. I leave the decision in your capable hands.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cazaly's_Stadium
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barlow_Park
you might want to add that the tigers vs suns games was a sell out, full capacity as well

21k at the AFL Sydney Derby to watch 4th places Swans destroy the wooden spooners GWS. Literally more than double the crowd that Eels v Parra got. Can they beat the nRL GF rematch as well? This is too much.

That's an awesome crowd considering the generally low turn out of Sydney people to weekly sporting events competitions. Why do they turn out for the swans games and not nrl games? Again, why do they turn out for origin games and not nrl games ? Serious question , why can origin and swans get the people of Sydney to turn out in decent numbers and not the nrl ? Maybe cause origin is only 1 or 2 times per year .. I can understand that, but that doesn't explain why the Swans continue to get large crowds every time they play ?

16k for the nRL GF rematch lol.

So in terms of actual crowds, this weekend in Sydney we had:

AFL Derby: 21k
nRL GF Rematch: 16k
nRL WS Derby: 9k

Or would you prefer that as a % of stadium filled Dave?

Lol ... Somehow in Dave's world the nrl would have done better.

His excuses:

1. AFL fudged the figures ... There was only 8999 at the swans game.

2. People had other things to do .. People who follow nrl tape the games and watch it after they get home doing other stuff

3. People are saving up to go to origin.

Wow, so yet again the AFL proves to be the biggest drawcard in Sydney. Hilarious to think the Swans vs a winless Giants attracts a much bigger crowd than the NRL grand final rematch. :(/
